1 HR. spin in the damp sand and shallow salt waters of the ches. bay

more to follow with pics..........

ground balanced to 12 or 13........i then manually ground balanced to 0.

YOU CAN NOT USE IT IN STD. MODE HERE AT MAX. SENSITIVITY...............NOISY............BEEPS....CHIRPS.........OH BOY.......LIKE THE ACE I JUST GOT, I DOES OK AT 2 OR 3 BARS.

B U T

in pro mode....MAX SENSITIVITY............she runs smooth and quiet...................i am a coil scraper...........she beeps and chirps with maybe like minerial sounds...low...kinda like my se pro does, but hits on targets good....the few i dug...............if coil is lifted 1 or 2" above the sand...............O M G.....SUPER QUIET.......BUT ONLY IN PRO MODE........do not go there in std......U will not like it.

i hunted in zero and let me tell u this baby might be a real beach heater for sure...............i did some depth tests............kinda like G2 results..........more on that.

back to u later in the day with pics and a follow up

headphones are not all that good for beach work...........small waves today, hardly any wind.............i did not likem

this heater is heavier than u will expect.....be prepared for that.

Glad to hear that! ...about the performance that is. I'm ok with the weight of the machine so far but I'm planning to either change out or modify the shaft to accomodate my long arms. The rest is just not far enough back towards the elbow for me. Could that be adding to you noticing the weight? Which headphones do you have?

." kinda like G2 results..........more on that."

You mean the same G2 that you're selling ? .....Jim

What is a heater?

Proper grammar would help........nice to know the AT PRO in Pro mode does well in the surf...good report, get some pics!

Max has his own language in his posts. That is half the fun of reading them. But one thing is for sure. When it comes to Salt beach hunting his opinion carries a wealth of information.

Yes I know ..that is why I want to understand them more!

I read his post here and could not wait to get out to the Gulf beach and try his settings.

I have not used the PRO MODE as I was wanting to fully explorer the STANDARD MODE before moving to it.

What a difference a MODE makes ... :smoke: ...

I posted my findings on the beach forum here with some photos.

Thanks Max for leading the way!

the numbers will tell the story...............

no setting i tried would hear the 10k ring nor the small gold pendant............... i do not belive one can test true depth doing it this way, but i did it so u can judge for yourselves. the sand was filled in level with the beach................hit the tungsten and sterling rings only................holes were.....6 to 8 inches deep......i will re-visit this fri or sat from a different view.

so far, i like it

Max,

Excellent posts and photos!

Are you saying you did an automatic ground balance and then
reset it to zero?

When you get time please post your favorite settings!

Happy Hunting!

.........does the pro mode lower sens or play some other tricks??
max, you can detect the high conductors at 6-8 inches as expected! the small low conductors are as i have mentioned before much less detectable by any machine excluding pi's. you would probably be able to detect them at 2-3 inches or 3-4. i was hoping the g-2 would be able to detect them in the wet salt since it is advertised as a gold detector......well, maybe not! the goldbug se with the smaller coil is geared more toward gold and the g-2 with the larger coil is more of a relic machine. anyway, i have learned a few things on dankowskis website on the detectability of tiny/microgold!! continue these tests, i love it!!!!
