1.6 volt nickle zinc rechargeable batteries

Has anyone tried these, and how good are they?

I bought 8 of them and a charger and have been testing them in my DFX. So far they hve been working fine. They don't self discharge as fast as Nimh so you necessarily need to recharge them if they have been sitting for a few weeks since they were charged. They seem to have voltage profile during use much more like alkalines.

Don't think I will be buying anymore Nimh batteries.

I bought a bunch of them with a charger really cheap at a Tuesday Morning store. I like 'em. Good for cameras, toys, and detectors. Plus the higher voltage (1.6) makes LED flashlights run a little brighter.

Just curious if they would be recommended for the MLs since their manual says DONT us batteries like lithium because of the higher voltage?

I've been using them for ~14 months in my Minelab Explorer II. Did have two of the 8 go bad right at a year of use but call them and they replaced them for free. They recommend a "special" charger but I've been using my MAHA C-777 charger and it works well.
