What a great day in Iowa!! I left home around 11:00 am and hunted a field that was the site of an old township hall. Lots of hot rocks and my SE was quite noisy. I did find an old pinky ring in there. Don't know what it is but it's not silver or gold. Stopped and visited my aunt and uncle and my uncle went along for about 15 minutes. We stopped at the neighbors place and got permission to hunt another field that held an old school house and the first township post office in 1855. Should be good this fall after the beans are out. I let my uncle out at home and went to another field that was a ball diamond. That was corn stubble and hard to hunt. The SE was running pretty stable in that field so I cranked the sensitivity up to 27. A two hour hunt yielded a nice 1917 merc that read 0028 and didn't fluctuate a bit. I also got a V nickle that I can't read the date on and two wheaties! I really thought about a new Equinox but if there is a coin under the coil this Explorer is going to hit it! Gold luck and happy hunting everyone!!
