0.3 ozt Nugget found with Gold Bug Pro

Nice solid 9.1 gram (0.3 ozt) nugget I found this summer in Alaska with my Fisher Gold Bug Pro and 10" x 5" DD coil. Was part of a real nice day of detecting with my buddy Bernie. http://www.detectorprospector.com/gold-prospecting-equipment/fisher-gold-bug-pro-nugget-metal-detector.htm

True story when I got the Gold Bug Pro I did not really warm to it immediately but it has become one of my favorite detectors. It is a deceptively simple but very powerful and effective nugget detector.

Damn very nice!!

Nice nugget, Why do I always have to convert Grams to Gold Wt. (Troy) to see how much it weighs? LOL It used to be that all gold was weighed in Troy Wt. Mixing Troy ozs. and grams is like mixing inches and millimeters.

Steve: I agree with you about the GBP. I have two of them including a 29'er, and they're very sensitive, powerful machines.

Question about a statement you made in the link you provided. You said that the GBP is a great nugget and jewelry machine but not the best coin machine. I find it to be a very good coin machine. Which machines do you think would be superior to it for hunting coins?

The Gold Bug Pro is not a bad coin detector, just not its strong point. There are many good coin detectors on the market but I am partial to my Minelab CTX 3030.
