πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€ How many metal detectors are sold in the USA? How big of an industry is this? πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

I bring this question up because I purchased a Deus X2. It seems like an excellent very refined machine. But the fact that they don't support updates for it via Apple/Mac, and the fact they really don't have a telephone number you can reach them at in the USA for questions, and it seems they don't reply back to emails, makes me wonder... just how small these manufactures are.

Whites going under, is a good indication of the feasibility and profitably of a metal detector company in my opinion.

So I ask, does anyone have a guess on just how many metal detectors are sold in the USA?

Better yet, how many in the Quality/ price range of a Nokta Simplex and above?

Now many in the $600 range and above would you guess are sold in the USA?

I really don't see how some of the manufactures stay in business, it just does not seem like a large market.

Anyone care to comment?

I ask Google this question and the response was 600,000 annually but it was dated December 1979.
The peak years were in the 80s and sense then it has decided so my guess would be about 1/2 that or 300,000.
