“5 gold rings find” update

Hey folks, figure in these winter blues id post these for you to think of times ahead and finds for the future. Finally got to a jeweler to check out the five rings I found a while back. For those new here, I found them several years ago while detecting with permission in a vacant lot. They were in high grass and not underground. They were together and almost blew the headphones right off my head! I turned them in and the police gave me a case number and kept them for 12 months. Nobody claimed them and I got them back. They reappeared a few days ago while I was cleaning a table in the corner of the living room. So finally had them looked at . The three on the left are 14 k and the 2 on the right, 10k. The jeweler said today retail would be between 2500 and 3000 dollars. My wife said, hey after 30 years you can finally give me a diamond. So we are getting that one re sized. I think I might of finally recouped the expense of my 4 detectors. Good Hunts All, CO

Very Nice Finds. I always wonder how items got lost. How long they were lost etc.

I remember that post! They were all hooked together on a big safety pin right? Great update and congratulations on getting them back!:clapping:

GeorgeinSC, I honestly think these were hot. I took them immediately to the police. The overgrown lot was behind a house and not a likely place for the public to be and for someone to loose them. I could imagine someone being pursued and or paranoid cutting through that lot to get to the next block and ditching some loot. I was turning around when my coil passed through some very high weeds on the edge of the property and my detector let out a blast! They were on the ground but not under any dirt at all which made me suspicious right then and there. I hope they arnt missed too much, Good Hunts Ahead All, CO
