    When to change batteries?

I've finally used the X-70 enough that the battery indicator has moved to half. When do you more experienced users typically change your batteries? Thanks.

    Ring Thing?

Went back to the sand tot-lot today. I put the stock coil back on to see if I could find more silver a little deeper. No silver, but I did dig some deep iffy signals. Ended up finding a clad quarter that was several inches down next to some iron.....also a 1974 memorial cent. My oldest coin...

    Rosey

I went back to the same sand tot lot that I found the mercury dime at last weekend. Found a 1948 Roosevelt silver dime and a 1961 memorial penny. That little 6" 7.5 khz coil seems to like the silver dimes.

    39 Merc

I bought the X-70 last weekend and had a chance to give it a try. I never took the time to read the instruction manual, but did read several posts on here.....I did watch the video as well. I used the stock coil and found several clad coins. This weekend I reread some posts including...

    6x10 DD problem?

I received a 6x10 DD coil from Whites and am not sure if it is woking properly. I expected lesser depth, but it seems to have a lot of problems locking onto targets. I tried it on my miniature test garden and it had alot of difficulty locking onto a 4" quarter whereas as my stock coil and 12"...

1st ring with the M6 :wiggle:

Found my 1st ring today with the M6. I found it in a mulch tot-lot about 2" down. It showed 32 on the VDI and sounded "round".

    Purchased the M6

I bought the M6 a couple of days ago and have been able to take it out for a test run. I found a dime at 7-8" that kept displaying penny/dime. I dug up a penny and still got a dime signal and just an inch or two away was the dime. I'm new to this, but that does seem impressive to a new guy. I...

    M6 and swing speed?

I checked out the online manual for the M6 and it suggested a swing speed of 1 foot per second. Is this a trade-off for depth and discrimination, or should I be looking for a different unit? 1 foot per second seems excessively slow to me, but I'm new to the hobby. I'm looking to use the metal...

    M6 and swing speed?

I was strongly leaning on purchaseing an M6, however after checking out the manual online, I noticed that it suggests using a swing speed of 1 second per foot. This seems excesssively slow to me, but then again, I'm new to this. Is the slow swing speed just a trade-off for good discrimination...

    New guy here

I recently bought a White's Surfmaster PI Pro and am enjoying it's depth at the beach. I'm looking for a "land machine" to use when I'm away from the water as well. The places I plan to detect are absolutely full of nails and beer caps/pull tabs. It just isn't the place for the PI unit. I am...
