    Update on XTP... happy now.

The problem is not iron, it's bottle caps, pull tabs, foil, beer cans, can slaw....the amount of predominantly aluminum in the place is something the likes I've never seen. The track opened in 1912 if I remember correctly. You have to experience the amount of aluminum trash there to fully...

    Update issue....

It was too good of a deal to pass up, $1600+ worth of stuff for $850...and it worked out even better in the end lol

    Update on XTP... happy now.

Well the past two days have brought me some good fortune. I found a Nox 900 with the two factory coils, headphones, etc along with a 10x5 Coiltek coil, sandscoop, pro find 40 pin pointer listed for sale for $850. I bought it and the very same day it died during the new update. Long story short I...

    Update on XTP... happy now.

The Morgan's did not come from the track, everything else did. The Barber Half and Barber Quarter at the top were my first two silver coins I ever found, found them with a Whites Coinmaster Pro 6" deep. Not to mention a two pound coffee can of clad coins. And a garbage can full of pull tabs...

    Update on XTP... happy now.

Come on out, it's a huge place. Just contact the owner and don't go into the fenced area of the track. I was gonna work my way out there today but by 9-9:3 a.m. the heat was just too brutal. After I finished up a local tot-lot I went home.

    Nox 900 update available

I just made a thread concerning this, my 900 powered down half way through the update, now it will power on but screen is blank and no sound, followed alll recovery instructions and nothing works. I just got this unit used today and it was working fine before i attempted the update. im totally...

    Update issue....

I picked up a like new (used) Equinox 900 today. got home and played around with it in the yard a little bit, it was working fine. Decided to do the update that came out yesterday, downloaded the MUU, started it, hooked up the 900 and everything started out fine. Update got halfway through, then...

    Update on XTP... happy now.

The track is the Winchester Speedway Indiana...it's a major pain wading through all the aluminum in the ground, you don't even have to take a step, just turn around 360 degrees and you will get so many signals that it makes you wanna just go back to the car 😆. That's why no one will hunt the big...

    New XTP is killin it...

Well, I'm a devoted Minelab customer now, the new XTP is absolutely killing the coins, no silver yet, but a friend has invited me to detect his place, the house was built in 1880, so really.looking foward to getting over there. PLUS....thanks to a chance development today, tomorrow morning I...

    Update on XTP... happy now.

Obtained permission to detect a local race track that I used to go when I first started out. In the grass area that fills up with the weekend campers during the races. Place opened in 1916. My first two silver coins came from there, a Barber quarter and a Barber half, dates 1914 & 1916. As you...

    Update on XTP... happy now.

So after another dismal outing this morning with the XTP I purchased at Cabela's on Saturday morning, I called Minelab and spoke with a gentleman about my issue with iron nails and other small pieces of iron reading anywhere between 80-94 on VDI, and giving clear crisp tones you would expect...

    Help me understand why...

To an extent yes, I expect some jumping due to being a single freq unit, and the VDI's being assigned 4 per bin...but my main issue is iron nails ringing in at 80-94 and sounding like a coin...just got off the phone with Minelab support, they said it sounded like a bad board or coil. Called...

    Help me understand why...

I have pretty mild ground here in Indiana but I run ground tracking also, recovery speed 2.What I am experiencing is not EMI. When held still above the ground the machine is dead quiet and not chattery. I don't take my phone with me when I detect, and I wasn't close enough to any people...

    Help me understand why...

I run all tones, I've experimented with coil speed, sensitivity, recovery speed, 10,15,and 8 khz,all 6 modes...it makes no difference. I did have better luck this morning at a freshwater beach.was pulling clad coins from 6-8" no problem. My biggest gripe is iron ringing on as a coin constantly...

    Help me understand why...

Totally agree with that, in my opinion 4 digits in each target bin is just an ignorant idea. Honestly if I had known that I never would have bought the XTP and just looked for a used Whites. Having said that I am having better results today, not spectacular but at least it's progress. One credit...

    Help me understand why...

I didn't have my cell phone with me while detecting, was not near any power lines or other sources of EMI. Done factory reset several times, done noise cancel and ground balance Everytime I done factory reset. I've never had this issue with any other detector I've ever used. Seriously regretting...
