    I went ahead and chipped away a little more of the black crustation. I do see the texture of where a shell casing would have been. Seen in picture.

    Thank you all. If this is a bullet, is it common to find them bent/melted like this and with this much crustation? I'm nervous to try and break it off especially since there seems gold dust specked on it.

    Found this in the sand beaches of North Carolina today. It to me looks like a skull at the top in Black and then a bronze possibly claw or tooth attached. The gold like metal sparkles in the black seem different than the bronze part. I'm very new to this so any suggestions or guidance would be...
