    Dug Horse Tack decoration or military badge?

    Update on an older post with help from viewers on the "subject: line. I dug this last week and am stumped on its age or purpose. Looks like cast bronze in the shape of a torch? There is still a bit of leather stuck in the hooks in the back.

    What the heck is this thing? Found in northern Virginia Shaped like a torch? Cast brass or bronze? Two small hooks on the back still have a tiny piece of leather still attached.
