I've been using my Steves' rod and counterweight set up for about a month. Totally impressed! His quality is second to none, and his customer service, and Steve as a person is even better!

    2 Hour Sunday Silver

Headed out to my newest farm permission at noon today. Plan was to hike the property with my gps, and log in the stone walls, barn foundation, and other landmarks to get them on a topo map...to try and find original colonial homestead. Hiked hard and fast....and got back to my truck at 3:30...

    Sun. 1//22 3 Hour Hunt

Got out this afternoon to my newest farm permission. Only had 3 hours, and spent it in the front yard. First good signal of the day was a '62 Washington Quarter. Next good signal was a deep signal with crappy #'s but just enough silver #s to make me dig. Dug a 1892 Barber Dime. Followed that up...

The Drought Has Ended....Silver #22 FTY

I haven't had a lot of time to detect lately...between work and the honey-do list. I haven't found silver in what seems like forever. (4 weeks, 36 1/2 hours swinging ). Had a couple hours this after noon. Took the Etrac with the Sunray X5 to a local school. Picked up a little clad, a wheat and...

    One Of Those Days!!!!

Did you ever have one of those days where you can't seem to get your coil over a target??? That's how today was for me. Started at the ballfield I hit last Sunday and got 2 silvers. Hour and a half and I had 1 clad dime, and 1 clad quarter. Decided to head back to the park I was at yesterday 3...

    Another 4 Silver Saturday

Headed out to the same "blanket of nails"park I hit last Saturday. Running the SunRay X5 on the Etrac again. Got out of work a little early, so I was at the park at 11am, and I swung until dark. 7 1/2 hours today. 4 silvers, 2 mercs, a Rosie, and a GW. Along with 10 wheaties. Found a partial...

    HELP!!! Please....Minelab Service Advice

Well...I hate to admit it, but I had an accident Saturday morning with my E-Trac. Something fell off a shelf and hit the screen, and tore it internally. The top center of the screen, is torn, and the complete screen is pixilated and has lines. The machine still works fine, I hunted with it all...

    Successful Sunday Hunt

Headed out today for a few hours to a ball field that has given me a few silvers. Pretty trashy, on the edge of a so-so neighborhood. Started off with the 6x8 SEF today. Hunted for about 1 1/2 hours with some clad and a couple Wheaties. Went back to the car and swapped out to the SunRay X5. As I...

    Saturday Afternoon Silver

Got out of work a little after 11 this morning, and headed to a local park. Got in 6 1/2 hours swinging....A little chilly but it felt good to be out today. This park is one I found a few silver in last year but is the trashiest place I have hunted. A bed of nails, and throw in pull taps and...

    NEL Tornado

Anyone use one of these on an E-Trac? I just picked up a used one. The ears are so tight to the shaft, I was afraid of breaking the ears. Had to pop one of the washers out of the lower shaft. Then, the coiled cord is huge. Is not going to fit into the Etrac lower shaft easily. Going to have to...

    Guess What TRIME it is!!!!!!

UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE!!! Another Bucketlister. My list is getting shorter awfully fast!! I knew what it was the second I saw it. I believe it is an 1853. It is pretty toasted, and from '51-'53 to silver content was only 75%. So that's my guess! Going to have to rename my #1 field "Field of...

2 More Checked Off the "B" List

2 more scratched from the Bucket list today! Can't believe I dug them both on the same hunt. Within 30 feet of where I dug the 2 cent piece 2 weeks ago. 1866 Shield Nickel, and 1858 Flying Eagle Cent. Obverse of the Eagle is toasted, was happy to get a date from it

    One off the Bucket list

Dug this New Years Weekend in a field that has been giving me some great finds. Didn't realize what it was at first. Thought it was a token until I took a toothpick to it.

    Field Hunting Coil

I've been doing a lot of detecting in some fields that have been giving up colonial relics and coins. Looking for a larger coil for my Etrac.Looking at 15" Coiltek, 15 NEL, and possibly 12"×15" SEF. Any thoughts or opinions? Thanks in advance, John
