Impact owners - inches/centimeters setting and accuracy, and effect on ground balancing

How are you finding the accuracy of the depth readings and can you tell if it is giving you the depth in inches or centimeters? And has anybody else, besides me, had the ground balancing function stop working after changing the inches/centimeters setting? ( I did get it to start working...

    trying for a silver dime

went to a private camp, Monday, where I have permission. Have found mercs and Rosies and occasional silver Washingtons. One Walker. Carried the MX Sport with 5.5x10 DD coil. Ran it in C&J trying for a silver dime. Had a good clean signal and an 84-85 TID. The detector indicated the target was a...

counterfeit FIVE D. gold coin(?) found in confederate camp

Found this yesterday in a crop field with my Fisher F75SEU (U=updated). Trying to save some goodies before they go under the plow. It appears to be a counterfeit $5 gold piece that one of the confederate soldiers may have lost. Whether he thought it to be real or knew it to be counterfeit, it...

pointer to F75SE update find: Enfield bayonet scabbard throat

http://www.findmall.com/read.php?91,2166709 Was using the NEL Tornado (12x13) coil on the F75SE update. Not that I needed it for this find (only 6 to 7 inches deep and a relatively large target). Lots of dig holes here that are not mine. Bet they hate they left this behind <g>. Thanks for looking!

    found Enfield bayonet scabbard throat

Not your everyday find (for me, at least). Found the other day with my F75SE updated detector using the NEL Tornado (12x13) coil. (The item was only about 6 to 7 inches deep and would just have easily been detected with the stock coil.) Thanks for looking!

    NC Sunburst button

Found this the other day with the Deus. It's bent and the shank is missing but it's a keeper! Most likely, it had just been through the 3 days of battle at Bentonville, NC. Maybe that's where it got bent. Thanks for looking!

pointer to AT Pro finds (Seated Liberty, Capped Bust)

http://www.findmall.com/read.php?91,2166693 Thanks for checking them out! The Pro is an amazing machine! Unbelievable price point for such performance. A real joy to use, as well. I have other, more expensive detectors, but there is no denying the results I am getting with the Pro!

Seated Liberty and Capped Bust same day

Found these just the other day with my AT Pro. Known CW camp area. Beautiful high tone the Pro makes when it hits the right stuff! The capped bust is a half-dime, btw. "5 C" can be seen faintly at the bottom of the reverse. Thanks for looking!

    umbrellas in the civil war

Yes, a pretty obscure subject, I admit, but there have been so many umbrella slides (the round thingy that slides up and down the shaft and deploys/collapses the spokes/spines) found. I have two of them and have seen numerous others pictured on forums such as this. Most of them seem to be...

Air Test Results F75SE upgrade stock 11x7 coil vs NEL Tornado 12x13 coil

Rainy, rainy day, today. Wanted to go detecting but could not. Wanted to try out my new NEL Tornado 12x13 DD coil on my F75SE upgrade. So, before mounting the NEL coil I decided to do an air test on the stock coil and then mount the NEL coil and air test it, too. I set up the detector in the...

    civil war 22s

There were 22 caliber rimfire cartridge pistols used in the civil war as personal side arms. Does anybody here have any they have dug and know them to be actual civil war vintage? Is there any reference material in books or online that gives enough visual detail to identify actual civil war 22...

odds n ends, some at old house, some NC surrender camp

The knurled brass cylinder is just under 2" long x just over .5" dis. I think it may be agricultural, but was found in a known late war confederate camp area. The strangely shaped segment of ? is .5" wide, appears to be of brass and looks as if it has an iron pin through it in the "humped"...

    Received the AT Pro

Thanks to all for the welcoming messages. The AT Pros showed up as expected last Friday. I've had mine out in the yard, my son-in-law's yard (he's restoring an old farm house that dates back, in part, before 1900). And yesterday, I went for a drive and got permission from the one land owner I...

    Hello everyone

I'm Wayne and new to the forum(s) here. I live in Pleasant Garden, NC, just south of Greensboro. I detected many years ago (30-35?) in VA and NC for CW relics with a Nautilus. Loved it but just got away from it. I've fly fished for trout and hunted for deer and turkey. It just feels right to be...
