Cleanup One Goof & I'm Done-THANK YOU MAX!!!

I really liked your idea Max so I put it to work on my Excal. When de-masking a first tried to whittle off the flash with my pocket knife and popped a chunk out that I have to repair tomorrow. For those using a putty knife and masking tape file or rout off excess as finish is brittle after two...

Question! Have Excal-don't enjoy sand in cover!!

Does your experience say better to seal your coil cover using a glue gun, silicone tube or something else or live with pulling the cover and dumping sand as machine starts acting up? I've been doing the latter but have time on my hands so kind of want to fix the problem. Thanks for all input.

    Where's Bottomfeeder?

Did Deere offer him an extension to his contract with a big re-signing bonus or is he stuck in an Iowa snowdrift. Thought he would be posting from Florida by now?? Ha!Ha! :clapping:

    Question-Dirty Battery Contacts?

Haven't used my Excal 1000 for the past several months as have been land hunting. When I pulled battery connector yesterday I noticed a very light white powder corrosion(?) on the pins that came off easily when touched (batt still has some charge from last usage). I always try to keep machine...

    Really Charged Up!

Just put a 14" coil on my DFX and amazed at number of new targets showing up in area I've hunted for years, all 6-10" deep. Want to do same with my Excal but don't know of suitable larger coil than stock. Can anyone help with recommendations? Thanks!

    Salt Water Corrosion

Hi all! Among the silver finds taken on my recent trip to Hawaii were two Walking Liberty Quarters. The one on the left (reverse) was found on the land (old picnic area), the one on the right was found in waist deep water at the beach. I've never dug a liberty in the water before and was...

Another day at the beautiful beach!

HI! Tried to upload this photo with my latest posting on Hawaiian surf hunting (without a straight shaft). Never seen anything like it and wanted to stop to pick up all the colors but my Excal lead me to the H2O where I did quite well. Total beach like this down to about 12". Something to see...

    Hawaii Beach

Once again trying to upload pic taken during this past month on Hawaii Beach I detected. Beach was small and was consistent like this down to about 12in. I've never seen anything like it! Wanted to stop and pick up tiny colored pieces but my Excel kept pulling me into the water. See thread on...
