NEED FEEDBACK ON OLD M/L DETECTORS

I personally love my 705 and will NEVER give it up! It was cutting edge technology when it was introduced, and there has never been another single frequency machine built that can do what it can. Its versatility is unmatched to this day, and about the only drawback is the need for additional...

    Coil Wire Jacket 70/705 Coils

I've heard of such things, but I've personally never had it happen to a Minelab factory coil. I did have it happen to an SEF coil that I have for my Explorer, and I did the same as you......electrical tape. Never had a problem with it, but it also never goes in the water.

Worth watching if you like Red Green.

    Vintage Padlock

Without any other identifying marks, finding the manufacturer is nearly impossible, as many of those old shield style lever-locks were produced by nearly every maker at some point.

Original Xterra 1st generation 6" Coils DD vs Concentric

Another thing to consider is that a Nickel is always going to respond to the HF signal transmission better/more/harder than the MF. Between the difference in response due to the different frequency and the difference in soil volume in the detection field, I can see why there could be a...

Original Xterra 1st generation 6" Coils DD vs Concentric

IMO, a DD coil will always outperform a concentric coil in moderate to heavy mineralized soil situation. The slice of ground (volumetrically) that the DD coil has to compensate for is much less than it has to with a CC, and that has a direct effect on depth capability. I never understood the...

    X-TERRA PRO WIRELESS HEADPHONES

And what I meant is that I'm using the same setup with my PRO.

    Fun gun

Got one as a teenager and have put thousands of rounds through it. Put a lot of meat on the table with it, too!

    X-TERRA PRO WIRELESS HEADPHONES

That's weird. I'm still using the same old Auvio wireless setup I've used with my 705 & Explorer SE for over a decade.

Original Xterra 1st generation 6" Coils DD vs Concentric

Depending on your soil conditions (of course), the deepest 6" is likely going to be the 3kHz in Prospector Mode. The Iron Mask feature will knock out most nonferrous targets if avoiding those is important.

Original Xterra 1st generation 6" Coils DD vs Concentric

The only 6" concentric coil is in 7.5kHz for the Xterra. The only concentric coils for 18.75 and 3kHz are 9".

    Fun gun

A full-auto BB-gun is fun. A .30cal full-auto PCP is rudely expensive and not at all practical. Novel maybe, but not worth it unless you have $ to burn, in which case you might as well just get a REAL full-auto centerfire that you could take into battle if need be.

    Fun gun

I don't get it. What's the point? I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not going to take an air rifle into battle.

    X-Terra Pro software update 1.0

No. If you perform a noise cancel after each sweep to the right, and again each time to the left, every time, you might be close. It's a lot like the tracking feature in that it can do it more often, faster, and more accurately on a continuous basis than you can even push the buttons.
