A few finds with a 6x8 SEF coil & an unknown token

As it is everywhere, it has been very hot here lately. With the humidity our heat index has been over 100 nearly every day for about 2 weeks straight. Hasn't stopped me entirely though...I had to get out and metal detect a few hours here and there when I could get away. Not a lot of luck...

2 Finds make me a believer for sure

Although I've done very well with silver since I bought my etrac, I hadn't really seen real proof that it was as good as everyone claims at getting finds in hunted out parks or from amongst trash. Most of my finds were detected on sites where soil had been moved or removed, and the coins...

Some finds and a funny story

Here are a few pictures of some of my latest finds. I had a bit of a dry spell for several days, no silver, but then found a 1907 barber quarter yesterday and a '53 this morning. One of the sites I've been hunting for the past several months was a house site that I just knew had big silver on...

3 more silver dimes and an indian uprising

Had a pretty good hunt this afternoon at the park that I've been hunting lately. I posted about this site earlier, that it used to be the fairgrounds in the mid 1800's and that they've recently demolished and removed a swimming pool with its facilities and sidewalks. Earlier today I checked...

2 more Mercs, a pretty silver cross & a bunch of wheats

Went back to the old park/swimming pool site today. Construction crew was finishing up with leveling the ground. Tomorrow they will spread straw and seed. Spent a couple of hours detecting after a 30 minute rain shower. I found another 10 wheaties, oldest 1912D and a 1918. Most of these are...

1st Trifecta and finally broke into the 1800's

Whew...finally broke into the 1800's yesterday....barely. An 1899 Barber dime...sweeet! A friend and I have been detecting a site off and on where a construction crew has removed a swimming pool complex from one of the city parks. The park used to be the fair grounds in the mid to late 1800's...

My best finds from my first 3 weeks swinging an etrac

About 3 weeks ago I decided to switch from using a white's dfx to an etrac. I've owned the dfx for quite a while and although I took a lot of time learing many of its various quirks....I just never liked it that much. There were just too many adjustments I had to make on it each time I went...
