First Day Out With The Nox 800 - Question

trojdor - Thank you very much for the informative reply! Great tip on raising the detector above the ground. I'll give that a try. We were hunting in a very trashy park. Tons of pull tabs and foil junk. With the detector in all-metal mode I was getting a bombarded by iron grunts as well. I...

First Day Out With The Nox 800 - Question

Well today was my first day out with the Equinox 800. In fact it was my first day out with a metal detector of any kind for about 10 years. It gave me the opportunity for a day out with my son, so it was a nice day regardless of the finds. See the Pic for my big haul :^) So, one comment and...

    Sling/Harness for Equinox 800?

Thank you very much for your thoughts WaterWalker. While I know that the Nox is lighter than many detectors and the ProSwing45 is pricey, based on everyone's input who has used one, it seems like a good investment for the sake of my back. I'm not getting any younger 🙂

    Sling/Harness for Equinox 800?

Just curious what everyone's thoughts are on a good sling or harness for the Equinox 800? I'm an older guy with a periodic history of minor back pain. Nothing major at all, just trying to prevent problems before they start. Is a harness a good investment or is it overkill for this detector? I...

Joe Z was a Pleasure to Do Business With! Thanks Joe

A couple days ago I purchased a set of wireless headphones from Joe. They arrived the next day (wow!) and were just as described. I highly recommend Joe as a fantastic Find's Treasure Forums seller. Thanks again Joe!

    Wireless Headphone Recommendations?

I'd like to buy a pair of wireless headphones to use with my metal detector. I'm not looking to spend a fortune, maybe an upper limit of about $100 (less is better). I'm also concerned about the size of the transmitter (smaller is better) and 1/4" plug compatibility is a plus (using an adapter...

Metal Detecting Conventions / Shows ???

Hello all. I'm new to the forum. I was just wondering if there are any popular shows or conventions that highlight the metal detecting hobby? It would be great to find a show that exhibits lots of new and used detectors, detecting accessories and tools, etc. I'm guessing that some gem and...

Seeking Suggestions for a GPS Receiver w/ These Functions:

Just getting back into metal detecting after several years. I'd like to carry a GPS receiver with me that I can use to do the following: 1) Set a start position at the beginning of a hike and use the GPS to guide me back to that point (preferably by either re-tracing the original route or by...

Coil Suggestions for Relic and Coin Hunting In Trashy Areas

Just got my MXT a few days ago, and I'm really looking forward to some coin and relic hunting around old abandoned homesites, mining areas, parks, etc. There are usually lots of shrubs and undergrowth in many of these sites. The MXT came with the standard 950 coil. I'm thinking about picking up...

    What's In Your Field Kit?

I just purchased a new Whites MXT detector. It's been nearly 30 years since I last did any detecting, and I'm really looking forward to getting back into the hobby. Since its been a while, I thought I'd ask a really basic question. What do you consider essential gear that you carry with you ino...
