Anyone use the 10 x 12 Widescan on their Cibola?

Looking for opinions on this coil. I currently use the 18 x 3 on land which is simply awesome, but I'm looking for more depth on the beach - as well as good coverage. Will the DD do the job so well that I can sell my Sov GT? Will it cope ok in wet sand? I also have a Silver Umax with the 10 x...

    Cibola cleans up downunder

The Cibola with the stock 9 x 8 coil is quite simply an awesome machine, add the 18 x 3 Cleansweep coil and you have an absolute MONSTER! Thanks to the Cleansweep I've had my best month ever - just over $800AU. Our $1 and $2 coins sure add up:smile:

    Cleansweep question.....

Hi folks and a greetings from Australia. I own a Cibola which is an utterly brilliant machine, and I'm planning on getting a Silver Umax as a back up. I also want to try the 18 x 3 cleansweep coil, and I'm looking for opinions on whether to buy it for the Cibola, or the Umax. Will it give...

A days hunt with the Cibola in Oz

I've had my Cibola for 9 months and I absolutely love this machine! Light as a feather, excellent pinpointing and so easy to use. Thought I'd show you guys what we pull outta the ground down here. A better than average day at an old school site. The Cibola doesn't miss much!

    Australian Armed Forces Button

Found my first interesting button today. Australian Armed Forces. Dates from between 1903-1910. Also got 5 pennies, 3 half pennies, 2 tiny threepences and a very nice 1944 shilling. The Cibola is on fire these days! Steve

    1797 Cartwheel Penny

Australia's first 'official' currency - brought over from Britain in approx 1799. Big, heavy and some would say ugly! But I thinks she's a beauty - even in this condition! Almost certainly dropped by early settlers in my region of NSW, just south of Sydney. Found yesterday with my Cibola, at...

    Monday's beach hunt

Day started off slow but then the cash started to flow! $28.75 - my best tally yet. The bulk of it in goldies. I got most of this from where the beach rake had been! Also one gold ring, another unusual ring, and a silver Pandora's bracelet. Not bad considering the beaches have been deserted...

    Ace hits the beach again

Another rainy day, more deserted beaches, more loot! Northern suburbs of Wollongong this time - Austimer & Coledale. Beaches covered in blue bottle jellyfish & seaweed. $19.45, an excellent silver chain, and a lonely old English tuppence made for a good haul. Southerly wind has moved the...

Down & dirty in the dunes.........

Hunted a quiet section of dunes tonite, and stumbled upon a love nest:cheekkiss: Perhaps some young lady lost more than her camera phone and loose change.......:yikes:

    Slim pickings, but nice gold!

More rain again today, but rather than sit at home on my day off I headed down to lovely Kiama for more beach hunting. It was chilly & windy and what's more I got wet! Finding my first decent 14k gold ring made up for the wet clothes:wiggle: I found this along with some coins at the entrance to...

    A is for ACE!!

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday we were suffering in high temps until a southerly blew up the coast last night and cooled things down remarkably. Quite chilly today and the beaches were deserted - the perfect time to go detecting! I'd noticed a couple of other detectorists on the beach...

    Beach Sweepers/Surf Rakes

Do these machines pick up the coins too? Was wondering if it was worth detecting after one of these beasts had done it's job. I tried a freshly raked beach a few days back and signals were few and far between - just bad luck or the rake swallows everything??

    Sunday silver

Up at the crack of dawn today and hit the beach. Nothing like watching the sun come up on the eastern sea board. Had a fairly good 2 hour hunt. $15.95 in change, most of it clean. Didn't find as many $2 coins as I normally do, but had a decent run on $1 coins and 50 cent pieces:thumbup: 3...

    An hour at the beach..........

Squeezed in a quick beach hunt this morning before the heat struck. Found excactly $12.50 in cash, mostly consisting of those lovely little $2 coins:thumbup: As well as a nice silver bracelet, and a single silver earing. Pity I couldn't find the matching pair! Don't what a pencil sharpener...

Another new Ace owner from downunder......

Greetings from Wollongong, NSW. I normally swing a Tesoro Cibola, which I love dearly. After lurking here for a while and reading posts from my fellow Aussies Mick in Dubbo & LazyAussie, I decided to get an Ace 250 as a back up. Was also lucky enough to find the 9 by 12 coil on eBay for $70...
