    Silver spoons!

    I found these spoons metal detecting was wondeing if anyone knew anything about them the large one has inscribed on it, 1847(date is hard to make out not sure about the 4)Rogers bros. A1. And the smaaler spoon says Monarch plate on it. I am guessing they are only silver plated but not really...

    Bad pennies!

    I have found a lot of newer pennies that i find are badly corroded and eaten away. My oldest coin to date was a 1888 indian head penny and i was very dissapointed to see that about 1/4 of the top was eaten away also. I was just curious as to what causes this.     Old churches?

    Would you need to get permission to detect at churches or are they considered public property? I just got my new DFX and know of a couple pretty old churches nearby but wasnt sure if i could just start detecting around them without permission. Have to wait for the weather to warm up a little...

    Dfx vs. Xlt

    I am about to buy a new detector im thinking either an xlt or a dfx. My father had an xlt, i used it a bit and liked it. Is it worth spending the extra couple hundred bucks more and getting the dfx or should i just go with the xlt?
