    Gold Rings

For those of you who have tested with or found gold rings on your F75, what VID numbers were you seeing? Were they consistent throughout the 360 degree swing? Did the ring pinpoint like a penny? Any other tips on recognizing them?

Overgrown and Collapsing - Your Strategy?

So I found the location of an old schoolhouse that was later converted into something else (not sure yet) and then abandoned around the 70's. The area is completely overgrown (there is a decent sized tree in the middle of one of the rooms. Some walls are still there, but many are collapsed...

F75 - Adjusting to the smaller coil

I've been metal detecting since new years, starting with the F2. I've had my F75 now for about 3 weekends of hunts and have a pretty good grasp on it. I can ID most of my targets now before they come out of the ground. However, after switching to the smaller coil this weekend (just got it on...

F75 Tips: Lower sensitivity and rub the ground!

I discovered a neat tip to share with others while detecting with your F75. Because this guy is SO sensitive, if you are in an area with an increased amount of interference (indicated by high-tone chatter), lower your sensitivity. I've found this lowers the volume of the high-tone chatter and...

Does anyone know of any dealers that have a Fisher F75 6" Elliptical coil in stock? I tried my preferred dealers and no dice.

    F75 & Silver Coins

Has anyone had much success with the F75 and finding silver - especially in more trashy areas? Someone mentioned somewhere (I think) that because the F75 operates at a higher frequency, it's more tuned to metals like copper, brass, and gold and doesn't smell silver as well.

    F75 on saltwater beaches

Does anyone have any experience with the F75 on salt-water beaches? I'm curious to know how well it performs and what settings you found worked the best.

    F2 on ocean beach

Has anyone tried out the F2 on an ocean beach and found reasonable settings to use to get it to work? I'm think i'll have to lowest sens and high disc and will lose a lot of depth. Thoughts?

F2 gives rapid and repeated beeps on sweep

I was hunting on a golf course today and for some reason, in certain spots, the detector would beep on a sweep and then immediately beep about 10 times in rapid succession. This seemed to happen towards the end of my hunt and seemed to occur randomly, but frequently when sweeping over a target...

    F2 vs F4 vs F75

I currently have the F2 - love it, but I want to give it to my GF and was thinking of upgrading instead of getting another F2. I'm curious though, since there doesn't seem to be solid specs available anywhere, does anyone know the major differences between the F2, F4, and F75? I noticed when I...

    Trouble at the old mill!

I did some research on my local town and found some information on one of the original lumber mills. The lumber mill was constructed at the turn of the century and burned down in 1916. The location of the mill has been undeveloped and is currently a county park / wetlands. This was my first...
