Anyone Still Using The 70 or 705?

Thanks. If I had the option to add just 1 thing it would be a SAT control similar to that of the old whites detectors. That was a very useful thing in bad ground mineralised areas. I often wondered why others never adopted a similar function/control on their vlf gold detectors!? Cheers mate and...

Anyone Still Using The 70 or 705?

@Old Longhair Out today, damn it was cold here. Was supposed to be 13c, i reckon was just 8. Got two tiny bits. Reckon was another tiny tiny "ping ping" but I accidentally kicked it away into some surrounding junk. 😆 Still was a great day. Was a very very junk area and reckon only something...

1902 Horse Carriage Emblem Tag / Big Silver / Nice Silver Jewelry Variety

Wow, just WoW finds! Good on you. 👍👍👍👍 Here because we have such a short history, finds are getting scarce relic wise. I used to love coin and relic hunting, still do and have a go here n there. Did find some lovely things in the past but now just hunt gold, relics where I think I might get...

456kg gold nugget found in Ghana whilst detecting

Im gonna say, its gold in rock, the whole thing is not a nugget and at one stage just three guys are flipping it too easy. Thats 1 guy flipping easy 150kg. I have seen a 150 kg gun safe and it aint easy to budge let alone flip over. I dont believe that rock and gold weigh 450 odd kg. Id bet easy...

Anyone Still Using The 70 or 705?

Yeah I tried a Nox 800 for a while, owned it, so many places Id hit with the 705 it didn't really make look new again if you get what I mean. It was a good machine, battery, cordless etc but its gold mode left a lot to be desired. It was like they tried, gold mode, didn't get it quite right and...

Anyone Still Using The 70 or 705?

I still own and use a Terra 705. Magic little machine. Still a capable gold finder in the right ground conditions. A real pleasure to use.

    Any idea on this?

Hi. Yes I can only imagine. It was from the famous Kangaroo gully Talbot. I will admit that im not the most monetary wise successful Aussie detetectorist. But have been in it since around 1990. But have been very fortunate to have known by doing so and from family friends from where we live to...

    Any idea on this?

Having heard the comments ill share this one. Was I think in the early 90's when I started. In Talbot goldfields. Had just dug up a 2 gram bit then saw some pottery on the side of the hole. I carefully dug out an old ink pot. This was from the mullock heap next to the shaft. What I love is that...

    Any idea on this?

Draco solved my question very much. I actually took this thing to a coin gold and relic show a number of years ago here in Victoria Australia. I showed it to a supposed expert from Downey's who was there to identify and value coin and relic items. I kindly handed it to him asking "hi, can you...

    Any idea on this?

To all, big thumbs up to @Draco for the help. Yep its a double side french wax seal. I found this on a hillside in an Australian reef mining area from the 1800s. The exact area was Ferrons Reef Fryerstown. 20 or plus yrs ago I gained permission from the landowner to detect there. I found...

    Any idea on this?

Thanks for the info and taking the time to check. That picture in the link, in the middle of it is identical. I live in a small country town. I think a shop here will have some plasticine. No craft shops that will have clay. Yeah I reckon in one way or another its been identified for me. Great...

Help for a detector in the $200 range

@u2robert Hi. Ahh, a Nokta. Heard good things about Nokta. The Simplex sure gives you bang for your buck by the looks of it. Very much in design like my Equinox. Shame they dont make longer shaft options. The Equinox was way too short for me so I got an aftermarket GPX longer shaft and made it...

    Any idea on this?

Here is a clearer look. And thats as clear as I can get it any way. This took dozens of shots each side to get it to here. I cant make this writing out at all. Im not even sure it is backwards at all now. Just an odd old coin thing I guess. Google lense shows zero matches.

    Any idea on this?

Hi all. I found this years ago on one of our goldfields. I have never been able to really figure it out. Not sure if its a tiny seal or what it is. The letters, seem to be, in reverse and I think I can make out a reverse Fidele. Im not sure what the piture is on this side. To me on this side...

Help for a detector in the $200 range

The Simplex sounds good. My last coin relic detector was an Equinox 800. I liked it and it but was mainly for my misses to use. But she ended up not being able to use it after she broke her wrist and they set it wrong. I just wasn't using it much at all, prefering my GPX 5000 so sold it.

Help for a detector in the $200 range

Hi. He pulled the trigger on the Ricomax. There seems to be a lot of new machines I haven't heard of now. I used to do a lot of relic hunting here but just go for yellow these days. Cheers though for the reply. Out of curiosity ill have a look at that simplex. 👍

Help for a detector in the $200 range

Hi. The mods here helped me get my old user name going and password. Im not sure about swap cards. I do though see Aussie Rules football cards on the shelf at the supermarket checkouts so I guess they are still a hobby to some. You dont see the amount on shelves though like you used to.

Help for a detector in the $200 range

Hi everyone. Have been a member here for many years but have been inactive for several. But I have a good friend there in the US who is thinking of delving...
