    Like you Donna, I was really surprised at how many coins get lost..I figured I’d find plenty of pennies, a few dimes and nickels and every now and then I might get lucky and find a quarter. Boy was I surprised at the number of quarters I started finding after some time with the detector.

    Too cold to detect? Detecting winter blues.

    My area is snow covered too along with frozen ground and frigid temperatures. Glad I got out those last few days before January and found a few coins… not much to do now other than wait it out. Very seldom do we get these conditions and I usually can keep on detecting year around.

    I have found quite a few silver coins that were very tarnished to the point I could not tell off the bat they were silver. Most did clean up nice though, but not all.. some are heavily pitted.

    The one I found is a good luck token. I tried researching the name on it, but did not find anything… I think this one is not nearly as old as what you have found.
