    Earbuds again…

I'm a bit confused,,,,are the lingos true bone conducting or not. Avantrees advertising doesn't say anything about them being that , just that they sit outside the ear.

    Earbuds again…

I would be curious as to how the sound quality compares to the Torus(y)

    F75+

I think the Fisher brand will die and First Texas will keep it's hobby units under the Bounty Hunter name which is probably their cash cow in the detecting world. I would be shocked to see the new Fisher flagship model that has been rumored for the last 6 or 8 years. I think First Texas is...

    F75+

The sensitivity was scalable from 0 to 100% with simple turn of the knob , you may be thinking of the notch feature which was a block of 5 numbers versus single ones which made a disc pattern sort of difficult. 100 point VDI scales was nice as was the all metal side and yes , it was the best...

    Earbuds again…

That was one of the more pleasant parts of them for me. I don't hunt more than a couple of hours most days when it's this hot because I have too many "duties" to get me out early. It seems I can hunt for 4 days without a charge before the Avantree lady tells me the battery is medium , never been...

    F75+

I ran an F752dst with all the upgrades for a bit and found it too sparky to be any fun in my dirt. I usually had to run a 40% or less to control the falsing from EMI and the alkaline dirt here. The tones are very digital and not very intuitive to my ears but probably very similar to what you get...

    What does your gold resemble?

Here's one I never soaked in the HF , not sure what it would like freed from the monzanite , maybe a seahorse?

How many of you hunt with Tracking on all the time?

I use it always since much of the dirt I hunt is a conglomeration of different soils hauled in to build artificial urban areas but I also make a point of occasionally doing a manual GB. The vast majority of the time there is just a couple of numbers difference if any at all. That is with the...

    Earbuds again…

I wish!!! They are pricey and it took a lot of looking the other way to purchase but I'm completely happy with them now. The neck band speakers are what I use mostly but if the ambient noise gets too high or there are people around it's a great option to pop in the ear buds. The battery time is...

    Earbuds again…

I have a few $20 sets of earbuds that will never see ear wax again now that I got what I paid for and bought an Avantree Torus setup.(y) (y)

    ?

They bring stuff up as well!! I always make a few passes over a gopher mound when detecting , easy digging also.:)

Tell us how long you been Metal Detecting

Late 1980s for me as an adjunct to prospecting , nugget shooting , not much park hunting until life allowed it down the road.

Looking for the Nokta Macro bluetooth headset

I tried these and found them to be serviceable but not acceptable to my razor sharp reflexes and did not care for the lag. On the other hand , the Avantree Torus you mentioned are the clear winner out of all the ear buds and alternate un-wired devices I have tried,,,highly recommend them. The...

    Got somewhat hassled this morning.

Enjoy the opportunity , all the schools here look like mediium security prisons now. There are no laws against detecting the property but there is no longer access to almost all of the schools regardless if there are students present or not. Tens of millions of dollars of public property...

    Why no Manticore forum?

I think Minelab is too cheap to sponsor one.

XP Deus distributor has sold out and have informed us they won't be needing this forum any longer.

Seems it would be a corporate decision that the cost of the forum sponsorship is more than the perceived value it generates in revenue , if I am understanding the OP correctly. Simple bean counting I suppose but how do you put a value on the exposure the forum provides?

    I just purchased the Legend.

I'm a total tech misfit and managed to do the update to 1.11. If this is a new machine from a dealer I am surprised they would sell one that was not updated with the latest.

    Why all the 800 hate?

You might be confusing distaste for the corporate shenanigans of Minelab for 800 hate. Their marketing strategy and lack of customer appreciation coupled with the refusal to deny they have some quality control issues has left a bad image in a lot of peoples minds. When my etrac and CTX became...

    M3 ?

Seems a bit less noise EMI wise than M1,2 and most of my grounds are artificially watered(sprinklers) over conductive ground so it seems appropriate. It is also one click away from 4k , wish it was one click back to M3
