    This past weekends underwater finds.

I posted this on the CTX 3030 forum but figured I'd post it where it fit. Scooped these finds out of the water. The brass items normally come out shiny....lead items black as soot. The sword scabbard is a first for me as well as the Texas cuff button and brass ships spike...that for some...

    Water hunt relics

Braved the sun for a couple days in the surf. Now the proud owner of at least 100 fishing weights! Here are some of the better finds. The Texas button was a nice surprise as well as the sword scabbard. The brass ships spike is pretty cool.

    Sanded in but......

Drove to my special spot just to find 4-5" of sand that is not normally there. Hunted for about an hour with only 5 signals because most of the signals are normally 6-8" under the oyster shale....which put the signals now 10-12". After my first three signals were cast net weights and the...

    Minelab Pro Swing 45.....AMAZING!

A buddy ended up with two of these so he sold me one at a great price. Opening the box the first thing that comes to mind is...this is a bit much. Put it together with a bit of help from Minelabs video because the instructions were typical Minelab instructions. Strapped it on and I am still...

    Underwater finds

Here are my weekend finds. This does not show the bucketfull of fishing we me and my buddy found. The signals were numerous and this was my first hunt with the CTX 3030. The waves were bad and I tried at first using the stock coil...but I soon realized either this coil is too big or this...

Still trying to figure out the FE numbers

Here are three of my silver finds. I tried numerous silver coins...seated, barbers, walking liberties and got the same numbers...12-44 - 12-46. I then tried the 1867 one peso and got a 4-46 and the locket a 1-46. Does the quality of silver determine the FE number?

    Floating coil.

A buddy of mine bought this coiltek coil for his CTX 3030 and found that it floats.

    How to remove FE numbers?

I am used to seeing the CO numbers and although I primarily hunt by the signal I like to see the correlation to the CO number but The FE just cunfuses me. Is there a way to only see the CO numbers?

    My work units.

Here are my work GPS units that I use every day. The Trimble is my primary and the Garmin 450T is backup. The Garmin is very accurate and battery life is great. The Trimble is able to download pretty much all file types. I primarily use the kmz and shape files. It is a map grade unit(not...

    Cozumel

Well...the finds were few...especially for me. I got quite a few mexican coins....mainly older ones and no jewelry! I guess it is just too early in the season. Me and my wife met up with Kevin(AKA-arclyt) and Carolyn, made some great friends and ate some some food! LOL Already...

    First underwater hunt 2013

Nothing special...but had fun. I like finding skeleton keys...4th one from this site. Don't have a pic of it now but I dug a lead spoon, feels too heavy for pewter. Why would someone make a lead spoon?

I have tried so many types of headphones...but these...wow!

Over the years I have tried and used numerous brands of headphones. My favorites are a couple pair of old Koss TD-81's & Rattlers....that is till now. I recently acquired a pair of Sunray Gold Pro's. These thing are night and day better than any I have used. I have tried them on my Tesoros...

    OK...have a technical issue.

I have a new Xterra 705. I found a great deal on a completely unused Xterra 70 so I bought it as a backup. Found a used Coiltek 15" W.O.T. coil and just tried it on the 70....could NOT get to stop falsing till I turned the sensitivity down to 14. Tried it on the 705...no falsing with the...

    Field finds from Monday afternoon

Hit a plowed field that a buddy has permission to hunt on Monday. Not many finds...but the 5 centavos got my blood pumping cause that 1952 sure looked like as 1852!!! LOL Most of the finds here are from the 40-50's. Have no clue as to the age of the tent stake tensioner...they have been around...

    70 is still gone but....

I got home Friday afternoon and this was at my doorstep! A buddy from Oklahoma called me Monday and told me he had bought me some thing and to keep an eye out for it. Unbelieveable!!! Called him up and told him there was no way he was paying for this...will be sending him the money ASAP. It...

    Garrett Pinpointer mount

I bought a Garrett Pro Pinpointer. Couple that with my daughter just had her tonsils removed yesterday( and is doing great)...so I have nothing to do sitting around the house today. I wanted to mount this on my detector somehow so that: 1) the weight wouldn't be an issue 2) the cost was...

    Modified 1270

If you have ever hunted with a 1270...you QUICKLY realize is it NOT a well balanced unit...powerful yes...but balanced no. Moved the housing to the rear...added a bicycle grip... and a neoprene sleeve to protect the unit when I sit it down. As you can now see...balanced and is now fun to hunt with.
