    OOPs! AGAIN

Re - my previous post on the 3.5"X7" coil with the 4 pin male connection. Talked to Rusty today and learned that there were very few of that coil made and it will work on the original Lobo or Diablo II gold machines, ONLY. Frequency is wrong for the newer machines even if the connector was...

    OOPs!

Just received the 3.5X7" coil mentioned in several earlier posts. When I tried to put it on my Vaquero to give it a try, I found out the both coil lead and the socket on the Vaq are male. 4 pins all riight, but both male connections, no female. Hopefully I can send it to Tesoro and have a...

    Question

Anybody have any experience/comments on the Vibraprobe 870 pinpointer? How does it compare to the Garrett Pro Pointer or others/ Thanks, BB

    Something to be aware of

Perusing one of the forums I follow, a thread came up where a fella had bought the Cibola and couldn't get any depth out of it. Turned out that he had managed to put the 4 pin plug in upside down and that definitely was not the way the Cibola is designed. It then dawned on me that while I can...

    Consider the challenge

Have you ever considered the challenge to designing the "perfect" detector? We want it to be sensitive to small targets at depth, but discriminate bird shot, small foil etc. It should have an extremely accurate TID and depth indication to its maximum depth, be able to uncover masked targets...

What is it about the Compadre?

I find it interesting how many of us that have multiple detectors, often hunt with and post finds using the Compadre even though we have more upscale detectors in our arsenals. I guess the niche filled by the Compadre is a perfect match to the machine and the performance for the price is great. BB

    Quick questin

I'm thinking I'll get a quicker response here as I can't call Tesoro until Monday. Is the Vaquero one of the Tesoros that can be changed to the higher pitch? And if so, what does that compare to - the Silver Sabre umax and Bandito II or the DeLeon, Conquistador and Cortez? Thanks, BB

    Father's day detecting

Got out this weekend to the Northwest Treasure Hunter's Club annual hunt held in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho. Lots of coins, a few silver, and a few prize tokens. My Conquistador with the 7" concentric coil performed perfectly. Really hot on planted dimes and nickels. Needed to use the frequency...

    Don't lose your pinpointer

Here's a picture of what I've done since I've managed to lose a pinpointer. I used a coiled key chain cord with a plastic fast snap that hooks on your belt or belt loop. You can forget to pick your pointer up, drop it etc. and it'll still be with you. BB

    Visited Tesoro

Just returned from a 10 day trip from N Idaho clear south to Mexico. Didn't get to do a lot of detecting unfortunately, but did get a chance to stop at the Tesoro plant in Prescott Arizona on our way back north. I dropped off a Treasure Mate pinpointer that had a defective tuning knob and they...

    MXT and MXT Pro

I'd appreciate some input from those that have either gone to the Pro from the MXT or have and use both. I've got the standard MXT and have been considering replacing it with the Pro. I can see where the ground grab would be useful and the tones when coin shooting, but is it worth the move up? BB

    Question

I've been detecting long enough and reading articles, forum threads etc. that I feel I'm pretty knowledgeable on most aspects of the hobby. However, I do have a question that I'd like to see some explanation for. Generally it's printed in user's manuals, and suggested right along that one...

Your smaller coil gives less depth - or maybe not

Recently read an article that made a lot of sense even though it was contrary to what most of us believer or have been told. It concerned actual working coil depth versus in air comparisons and even test garden comparisons. I'll try to condense the pertinent points here. In more trashy...

    11 Quarters one hole

I've found lots of multiples from 3 up to 7 coins in one hole, but 11 is amazing. It's things like this that help keep this hobby fascinating. BB

    6 x 10 Eclipse !

I use the 6X10 a lot on my MXT. As others have stated it may not be quite as deep as some of the others mentioned, but the separation and coverage are quite good and the depth is definitely decent for its size. BB

    CURIOUS - CIBOLA GB CONVERSION

I'm posting to ask those that have played with converting the Cibola to manual ground balance why they went that route rather than with a Vaquero that already has manual ground balance? AND how well they liked it once converted? BB

    jWTT Tesoro coil

Want to trade a clean, working Tesoro 8X9 spider coil (no cover) for a clean, working Tesoro 8" brown donut coil, preferably with cover, even money, each pay one way shipping. BB
