Indian Artifacts, Pipe Bowl, and a broke South Carolina Dispensary

That floor is probably a mixture of clay, sand and any animal blood, it made a water tight mixture that I have seen in old cisterns, still holding water. I know of one that still has the handprints of the man who built it. Good finds, and bonus feature: history teacher goes swimming; calabash...

    Gnashing of teeth.............

I had a really nice indian head buried and I knew where it was in my test bed and I still cut it after finding it with the 600. Reminds me when I found a breast plate and after 100+ years I cut it. What your worst/best story of damage to a good find!

    1942 mercury dime

The 40's to the 70's is only 30 years, not much of a stretch for lost pocket change. As far as being silver, most silver in the 70's was just that. A silver coin in the 70's would not have raised an eyebrow. They were common-place. Not some of the crap I find now that dry-rots in the ground. I...

    Equinox gets hammered...

Dang, I get on here and someone hurts my feeling right off the bat! That breast plates as pretty as a set of snowtires. I wonder if you could use electrolysis on it for that spot. Add my hurt feelings to the list.

A fine year of detecting although the rest sucked. My best 2020

That ring you found had a patina I have only seen one other time. I was using a detector along a railroad track where a hotel was. A dozer had cut a trench about a foot deep down a short grade, this guy walked up and was using a pitch fork to turn the soil over into the trench to see what he...

Truck Stuck.. Hiked Out.. But Got Silver

    What a Wonderful Day..!!

Fastdraw, you found a great relaxing day!, Thoreau said of nature: If I could learn what it had to teach and not when I came to die, discover that I had not lived! You found handfuls:super: I know someone right now in New York on the verge of a mental break-down.........they can't get out...

    Get Off My Land..!!

I had to discuss this very issue with a man about 5 years ago. He posted a nice belt buckle and where he found it, great find. I then had to remind him that he wasn't the only person with a detector and he had now told half the state where to go and how to get there. I asked him if he carried a...

    Bonehead mistakes...........

I don't think this will ever end, today we were on a little outing, I am always looking for new hunting spots and I missed my road so at the next intersection I did a "u-ee", and went back, my wife asked me if I saw the cameras at the intersection! Uh no. I am now waiting for a mail ticket.
