A Recovery for My Dad / Gaming token pile / Sterling Bracelet / Possible 3-legged Buffalo Nickel

Great job on the ring recovery. I'm glad your Dad had a good idea of where it was at. Nicely done on all the old coins and those are some cool tokens.

    Old School Silver

Thanks Mark. I guess over time you learn to read the land. It's fun to find that original old soil on a site for sure.

    Old School Silver

I took a long drive out to a small town school site I have never hunted. It is always such a gamble to drive so far just to find it's been hunted out by the local diggers. I had a few back up sites, but this place was my main focus because it has such a large area to hunt. I started around the...

    1859 O Yeah!

Thanks Mike! I with you on it being dropped by a soldier. I found one of my favorite Civil War relics just about 200 yards across the street from here. It's a game die made from a bullet.

    1859 O Yeah!

Those are a couple of awesome coins! I wouldn't know how to act if I found a Flowing Hair. Good luck to ya!
  9. Sooper Dave

    1859 O Yeah!

Awesome! Have you dug any Capped dimes, quarters or halves? Those have eluded me. Way up on my list to dig.

    1859 O Yeah!

Thanks. Yes Research, Location & Luck. I depend a lot on the luck part. :ROFLMAO:

    1859 O Yeah!

    Thanks!
  12. Sooper Dave

    1859 O Yeah!

Thanks. Yeah the damage stinks but this is actually the first Seated half dime that I've found that's not been holed. The first one I found was holed and has the letter A carved into it. Adds to the story behind the find I guess.

    1859 O Yeah!

Thanks Mark! They are elusive little coins for sure. They don't come up often but I've been lucky to dig a few over the years. It is a big thrill for such a tiny coin. I hope you get your coil over one soon. Good luck!

Back on the river 19 silvers! Lots of barbers! Dime trifecta!

Hope you dig a bunch more. Good luck!

    1859 O Yeah!

    Thanks
  16. Sooper Dave

    1859 O Yeah!

Thanks and I agree it was probably a soldiers coin. Makes for a fun story behind the tiny coin.
  17. Sooper Dave

    1859 O Yeah!

It is possible it's old damage. No the spur was down a few inches. I had to dig it. I try to dig big iron signals on a site like this.
  18. Sooper Dave

    1859 O Yeah!

Thanks Floyd. It may be old damage but looks new to me. And a coin or relic can be damaged just from the heavy equipment running over it, even if it's a few inches under the surface.
  19. Sooper Dave

    1859 O Yeah!

    Thanks Jimmy.
  20. Sooper Dave

    1859 O Yeah!

Thanks Jeff. I don't think it saw a lot of circulation for sure.
