    Jim, eventually, you will have to pay for the built in batteries to be replaced but until then all you need to do is remember to make sure they are charged before you go detecting. Hope you aren't like me, as I am old and forgetful. LOL!!

    Multi frequency ?

    SMF for the gold mode only uses the 20 & 40 kHz frequencies together per Dilek. This seems to make perfect sense since those frequencies are the ones that work best when searching for gold with a single frequency.

    Dilek said the machine comes with a printed manual. She also said that she has been very busy but is working on translating the manual and hopes it will be available online in a week or two.

    Try going to the NM website and find the Gold Kruzer. Check for the User Manual and download it. You might get some useful information there. They also list a way to contact NM for more info,
