    Equinox Skid Plate

Thanks guys, I think I'll try it without the skid plate for a while. Rarely rub my coil closer than 1/2 to 1" from the ground. I'm not worried about the depth lost. Seems the newer detectors have thinner bottoms than the old Fishers, Whites, etc. The fine iron particles and salt drive irritate...

    Equinox Skid Plate

Are any of you using the factory coils without the skid plate? All mine does is collect dust, dirt, water, etc. Is the coil bottom thick enough to use without it? The soil in this area is mostly plain dirt with no rocks. Your thoughts are appreciated.

    Shovel for metal detecting.

Iowa relic, I did the same thing with the Kobalt trench spade. I modified the blade to suit me then replaced the handle with a lightweight fiberglass pole and a tight fitting aluminum insert. Also used a lot of JB Weld. I love that stuff. The shovel is also a lot lighter which means a lot to...

    Apex question.............

I had a problem also but mine was cured by simply making sure the coil connector was tight. Hope it's something simple.

    Learning this newer forum

Yes, I understand what you mean. I had no problem with the old system but now I simply cannot figure out to to post a detector for sale on the classifieds. Everything I try does not work. My feeble mind can't comprehend what I need to do. There's definitely something I'm missing. Anyone with a...

    First hunt with 6” Coil

Zac, nice finds with the 6". I even use mine in the fields around here. Lots of iron in certain areas. Made a weight balance system for the Equinox back of the arm rest. Now it almost floats. At my age I need all the help I can get. Never Give Up.
