Nothing wrong with a day like today!!!

t's been several weeks since I could get out and hunt. First off, I had sent my ATP's in for the upgrade and a repair on one and then I had to have some minor surgery that left me with stitches that I didn't want to get infected so I stayed clean and cool. Thursday the stitches came out and the...

Oh well, I was gonna send it in anyway!!

I hit the water with the ATP right at sunrise this morning, didn't even bother to stop at the Fast Food Drek House, as I had some sweet watermelon and 3 fresh peaches from the fruit stand. Some kinda good!! The ATP was humming right along, giving me some coins and trash and other assorted...

You boys know I love my Texas BBQ

This joint is in the town I work in. He's right, best I've eaten in my 60+ years. Been eatin' there at least onece a week for the last 16 years. You'd slap your ama if she tried to take it away from you!! http://eatocracy.cnn.com/2011/07/15/meat-meister-has-beef-with-non-texas-barbecue/

    I'm not worried...

about my ATP having problems again. Picked up a second one used off of The Bay and it arrived last Friday. Gave it a quick check after cleaning all the sand out of it and it seems to be fine. So if my original one goes fritzy, I've got the other one as a back-up. Came with a backup Propointer too!!

    ATP goes world-wide!!

Got an early start again today before the crowds go to the lake. Again, I was relegated to fast food drek for breakfast (don't the restaurants around here know I need a decent b'fast??) Anyway, met up with HarleyMan2 and we tinkered with his 2500 a wee bit, just tried to get him a little better...

    It's just so tiny!!

Words a man never wants to hear, but that's what I thought this morning as I scooped a itty-bitty silver ring at the lake this morning. I got my usual real early start this morning and decided to forego the fast-food drek for breakfast, instead scarfed down a couple of sweet, ripe Texas...

    Stay out of the water!!!

You won't find anything with the AT Pro!! Send me the locations of your swimming holes so I can clean out the junk for you!! And if you buy that I've got a real nice bridge for sale!! Got up REAL early this morning and after the usual fast food despicable breakfast, I headed for a lake to see...

When you can't find a lot of GOLD....

you might just have to settle for a little gold with a little ice and a little silver. I hit the lake a little after daylight this morning after scarfing down a burger for breakfast, not my first choice but was the only place open that time of the morning. After rigging up the ATP, I sauntered...

No gold today, no silver either, but.....

me and the ATP had a great day in the water nonetheless!! With yesterday being our 14th day in a row with 100

    ATP goes TRIFECTA again!!

I was up WAY before the crack of dawn and after a most repulsive McD's sausage and biscuit (one bite, gagged and tossed the wretched thing) I headed for the lake. Arrived at daylight, nobody there but me and the ducks!! Nice and calm water just a faint breeze!! Perfect!! Well, since it's been...

Back in the water this morning, but alas....

no gold. I headed out REAL early to beat the crowds and hit the lake right at daylight. I had about 2 1/2 hours before the contributors started arriving. I did get a couple of rings and an earring, but I believe both the rings are stainless steel or some other kind of metal, no markings at all...

Trifecta plus one in the water

I got my new 6 x 9 coil this week and rigged it up on the ATP last night. I decided that I had had enough of listening to those pesky bottlecaps in the water!! It's not that I can't tell it's a bottlecap, I just can't get my brain to listen and not scoop them!! Anyway, this morning I headed to...

    Tiniest gold I ever found....

but it was just an eyeball find (the ATP was resting beside me, does that count??) Found it a couple of weeks back, after a hunt with Ol' Strobey. We had finished the days hunt and were sitting at a picnic table jawing a bit, I looked down and saw my favorite color, right by his foot. I reached...

It's hotter'n the Fires of Hades here...

in Texas, so what a great excuse to get the ATP wet, me included. I headed out early this morning, thinking I might have my spot to my self, but nooooooooooooooo!! There were about 200 non-jewelry wearing swimmers out there practicing for a decathlon. Looked like a bunch of lemmings on a...

OK, so this time I got IN the water...

with the ATP and made a few finds. Nothing earth shattering, but I do have some observations. You CAN get it wet!! I dunked it and dunked it and it worked just fine. I do believe I will be switching to the 6 x 9 for actual in-the-freshwater hunting though. The DD is really hard to push through...

No need to get IN the water...

just need to get near it here in Texas. While a good part of the country is suffering from flodding and too much water, we barely have enough. I've hit the same lake 2 Saturdays in a row and have yet to get the ATP wet yet. Here's why!! [attachment 197641 0lakelow1.jpg] [attachment 197642...

    No gold today, but.....

had a good time out and got to see and old friend again!! He may be a heathen and a general miscreant, but I ain't no saint either!!! Skillet and I used to hunt a good deal together but the past year or so, he's had a lot going on that didn't give him much free time to hunt. So, it was a good...

    Nothin' but my At Pro....

a nice day off to hunt and a lot of exposed lakebed!! I headed back to the old Buzzard Gulch this morning with a determination to dig me some junk!! And I found plenty. If it gave a solid signal, I dug it...period!! Lately, I have succumbed to looking at the meter to tell me what to dig...and I...

AT Pro continues to amaze, testerdays hunt

After my usual Sat. morn. breakfast of some breakfast tacos with plenty of HOT salsa slathered on, it was off to Buzzard Gulch for a morning of stumbling and bumbling while implementing the Blind Hog Grid Method. I had just arrived an gotten the AT geared up and had a couple of keepers in my...

    Nuttin' special!!

But it was great to get out from behind that desk and away from that wretched phone. Loaded up the ATP this morning and headed out to hunt some exposed lakebed. I didn't get anything special, no rings, no jewelery of any kind, no old coins, just some time to myself for a few hours...priceless. I...
