Some NJ beaches are totally closed

Got a call from my brother who went down to one of our NJ beaches with a few friends to hunt. Can't even get ON the beach, let alone near the water. They are going to head to a few others to see if this is a trend along the coast. Hopefully NOT ! Want to head down tomorrow morning for a few hours.

    Got one coming

Well, I decided to give the Infinium a try after lots of research. Going to be using it mostly on salt water beaches, and I know that it has to be adjusted to compensate, but I am willing to use it to it's fullest and see what transpires. One quesiton I have, and maybe some of you who have used...

    Gold Bug beach finds

Here is the results of about 2 total hours of beach hunting with the Gold Bug. Missing are the hundreds of pieces of foil I dug ( a good thing I think when beach hunting) and the DEEP bottle caps. After the first 15 minutes of use, I figured out where I needed to run my discriminating setting...

Gold Bug with small coil test on 14k earring

Just got back from the beach testing 3 units on this small 14k earring. The Gold Bug with the small coil, a Shadow X3 with DD coil and my CZ6a with 8 inch coil. In the dry sand, all 3 detectors can hit the earring in discriminate mode ( CZ in normal mode) up to 4 inches...the Gold Bug then...

Gold Bug on the salt water beach video

OK guys n gals....this is my first attempt ever at making a video. All I can say is kudos to all those who make these and post them for us to enjoy and learn from, because it's pretty hard to do...at least by yourself it is ! I did not have my sand scoop, and could not use headphones so you...

Gold Bug on a salt water beach - Part 2

Got back out at low tide for about 1/2 hour. Since most of the people on my beach were up near the dunes during the morning, I started there just to see what may transpire. After 2 bottle caps, I headed to the wet sand. Settings were gain at max ( 100 ) discriminating at 18. The 3 quarter...

Gold Bug on a salt water beach - Part 1

OK. Just got back from the first go round with the Gold Bug on one of the salt water beaches I will be detecting all week here at the NJ shore. All I can say is this is the BEST single frequency detector I have ever used in the wet sand AND suds. I was using the 11 inch DD in both all metal...

    My Gold Bug arrived today

Just got my new Gold Bug SE with both coils. Got it from Mr. Bill, and before he sent it to me, sent it back to FT to make sure all was well, and tested it prior to sending it off to me. Thanks Bill as I appreciate that very much. Just got back from the yard for some quick testing with both...

    CZ20 headphone swap

Does anyone know if Grey Ghost under water headphones can be used on a CZ20. Reason I ask is, my CZ20 headphones are almost shot, and since I don't dive and only wade, would I be able to cut off the headphones of the CZ20 and replace them with the GG underwaters. I would think it's a simple...

    Hit the beach yesterday

Found a spot that gave up over 100 wheat pennies, all in really good shape. There are 80 in the pic...my brother got 23 of them. All of these were found in an area about 50ft x 50ft. I picked these off with my CZ6a. Funny thing is...not one silver coin. The 10:1 wheat to silver ratio was non...

Maiden voyage with the Musky Advantage

I purchased a used Musky Advantage about a week ago, and never used one before. I wanted to try one out since I read they are deep and easy to use. Since there are a few beach applications I want to use it for, I also purchased a WOT coil for it. I took it to a the beach today...first time...

    Excellent shape Tejon w/2 coils..$400 incl S/H

I have an excellent shape Tejon with stock and 5.5 concentric coil for $400 which includes USPS priority mail with tracking and insurance. The small coil was used twice. This is a great detector, but I am thinning the herd and don't land hunt much and do not relic hunt at all. JC

    Great deal with David Keene

I had a great transaction with David Keene ( davkeene). I bought a CZ3D 1021 serial number series and Sunray FZ probe and both were in excellent shape. He threw in a pair of headphones too. The detector lloks and works as advertised. JC
