    Very nice ...

Possible sensitivity issue .... help appreciated

Yes, IDX is correct  It doesn't change auto sensitivity levels until it sees a reason to.

    Equinox 6" coil rattle

    Excellent.

    I'm an IDIOT...!!

onemore, I ended up doing something similar. I've got a plastic container my wife game me (I've no idea what it was originally for, lol.). It's got cotton balls stuffed in it, and a clear window. It's always in my velcro'd shirt pocket, and it's just for 'goodies'. I put all the silver and...

    I'm an IDIOT...!!

I feel your pain. I was hunting in the rain once, and found a nice/deep 2 cent piece. I thought I put it in the finds bag, but when I got home, it wasn't there. Later I noticed the tendency of my gloves hold mud when wet. Then, when I would try to put a muddy coin in the pouch, it would stick...

Back to WM08 Module from BT

Not quite. It's a heck of a lot better than the CTX module, but you've still got the issue of where the headphones actually plug in. If you've got headphones with the waterproof connector, it becomes pretty darn 'splash/rain proof', but since you can't use wireless in the water anyhow, that's...

Back to WM08 Module from BT

In a nutshell: 1. Yes. 2. Exactly. (technically SOME lag, but insignificant compared to BT.) 3. Yes. (the ML wireless phones are just re-branded Chinese BT phones.)

    New to CTX

Sweet! Look like you've got a great location. I can only imagine what you'll find this spring, as you learn the machine... mike

    Equinox 6" coil rattle

 ....and that is the correct response from Minelab. I suspect the robotic arm that automatically epoxies the coil windings and electronics, had run low on epoxy, and no one caught it until it had already made yours. (And perhaps others.) There's probably a huge bubble inside where the...

    Equinox 6" coil rattle

I would never trust a coil that rattles when you shake it. I suspect big epoxy void(s). Contact your dealer first to see if he'll do anything, and if he doesn't (or tries to talk you out replacing it)....go directly to Minelab. But don't dawdle too long....talking about it won't improve it...

    Another hunt before the snow

AU code on Equinox 600 when I noise cancel

The AU is just Minelab's way of telling you your 600 doesn't have manual noise cancel....like the 800 does.....it's ONLY auto. You can actually start the AU process two ways on the 600: If you go to noise cancel, the 'normal' way to start the Auto process (on 600/800) is by pressing the...

    Troy X5 Question.

Yes. If by "this detector", you're referring to either the Troy Shadow X3 or the X5....then there were four coils: A 10x5" DD. A 9" 'spider' concentric. A 7" 'solid' concentric. A 5" 'solid' concentric.

Anyone using a Coiltek coil on their CTX? Would like to know your opinion

Tony, I had a 14x9 and posted a review/test on here some time back... I was underwhelmed. https://www.findmall.com/threads/my-first-impression-with-the-new-coiltek-and-anderson-shaft.326719/

    Another 3.0 update question

I've heard a lot of people say the indicated depth is off on their machines with the 3.0 update. I don't know if it's the ground, or variations in the coils, but on both of my EQs the indicated depth is much closer to actual/accurate with the 3.0. (Still nothing like a CTX or ET....but much...

    Coil Not 11 Inches

@Charlives, They say it's an "11-inch Double-D Smart coil". There's no mention of length. I just measured mine, and it is EXACTLY 11" wide, without the skidplate. So, it looks like they're being completely honest, to me. And nenadgbeepin is correct in that the width of the DD coil has far more...

    Pinpointer Button Thoughts

Many of the original pinpointers had a press-and-hold button to operate. Most people asked to have a switch instead. Having used both extensively, I can definitely say I much prefer the way it is now. :) mike

    1942 mercury dime

Many/most cities will re-use dirt for landscaping that they've removed from other areas. That's one way older coins can end up in newer parks. I've thought about trying to get access to the fill dirt to hunt it, but no one in my city is interested in allowing it. :( Congrats on the Merc ...
