    Park Finds from Saturday

Found a silver plated spoon which was deep, some buttons, some bullets, a '34' and '44' Lincoln and the other Lincolns are copper as well. All in all it was a fun time.

Detecting pull tabs and gold jewelry

Don't you wish they could make a detector that could detect a pull tab and know with certainty it's a pull tab and detect a gold piece of jewelry and know for certain it's gold? Detecting ferrous/conductivenous of an object is one thing.

Me Detecting Lake Huron beach with my Deus

Had fun today at the beach. Took my twin brother but he doesn't detect. Didn't find any gold but it was still nice to get out.

Tested Deus on 14K Figaro style gold chain tonight

I was using 8kHz and the chain bounced from 27 to 30 constantly. It's my twin brother's chain who is visiting and knowing nothing about detectors. He said in an upset voice: "Why do you keep moving the coil back and forth across the chain?!" Just hold it still!" I grinned and said I have to...

Received my 11" coil today and paired it. Easy!

Took it out back to my test garden. Hit the 9" copper penny really good. Can't wait to take it out detecting. Thanks to Andy and Charlene of Treasure Hunters Trading Post for the help.

ID NORM on vs. ID NORM off

I just now tested three different coins; a silver quarter, silver dime and wheatback penny using 4,8,12,18 kHz.. With ID NORM on with each different kHz setting the numbers remained the same for each respective coin, i.e., Quarter = 95, dime = 93, penny =88. With ID NORM off with each...

Is it hard to shorten the cable on my CoinStrike?

I'd like to shorten the cable on the CoinStrike I have so it just wraps a couple times around the pole then to the box. Is it hard to take apart the end that screws into the box and re-use it? Or do I need to cut the line and splice the wires together? Thanks.

Not knocking my Explorer but . . .

After swinging the Deus a couple of weeks I picked up my Explorer and wondered how I used to swing it all day long!

Tested the separation abilities of the Deus after work

Took the Deus to the trashiest part of the place where I live up right near the front of the house. I have avoided this area in the past like the plague due to all the trash. I heard this dime in the midst of this trash. This trash was in the same hole. I even got an 87 showing from time to...

    11 x 13" coil or 11" round coil?

My Deus came with the 9" coil. I am thinking of getting either the 11x13" coil or the 11" coil but don't know which one is better. The coil would be used for sites not too trashy. Would I be able to get a couple inches more depth or would it just get me more coverage? Any of you folks have...

    Farm Finds from yesterday

Not sure what this ring is from but maybe it originally went to a buggy or something related to horses? The little copper thinking inside of it says "Unilab Inspected". Don't know what it would have been for either. No old coins.

How do I lower the sound of iron nail hits?

Yesterday while detecting an old farm I was barraged by loud iron nail hits. I tried Iron Volume 0 but it was still too loud. Is there a work around? I tried notching but I don't want to notch out the iron. I want to still hear the iron and anything next to it.

    Remember years ago . . .

Do you remember years ago when the Explorer forum was a daily barrage of great finds? People all over the U.S. were finding incredible finds and posting them here. I wonder where everyone went? Did their finds dry up?

    Deus Depth question . . . yes, I'm frustrated . . . really frustrated

I have a question for those of you who are really seasoned with the Deus. I've been detecting 8 to 11 kHz. TX 2 (tried 1 and 3) Disc 0.0 Sens: high enough for stability 5 tones Reactivity: 0 (I find my detector goes deeper the less reactivity I use.) Silencer: 2 Audio Response: 5 Notch: 97-99...

    Aluminum gum wrappers?

Yesterday after work I was using the Deus in the back yard using 8kHz and getting what I thought was a pretty good hit. It was coming up in the 50's. When I dug it up it was a flat piece of what looks like aluminum wrapper about an inch by an inch. Anyone here run into these and what do you do...

    XY screen magnification

I just learned that if you check a target by the XY screen and the line is showing really teeny on your screen, you can press the pinpoint button for 2 seconds and it opens up the magnifier settings. How cool is that? :clapping:

Anyone here go underwater with their Deus?

I have the kit to go underwater. I think I can use my WS4's underwater too.

Testing Deus with settings learned in bootcamp and, as Gomer Pyle would say: suprise

First I did my settings correctly, tested in coin garden okay, went south of the coin garden about 10 or so feet and snagged this little guy :-) I can't believe how many detectors I've gone over this small area over many years with many different detectors and never snagged it.

Anyone here have tips for finding gold chains with the MXT?

I'm curious if anyone here can share any tips for finding gold chains with the MXT?

Anyone hear of a Patent Minelab just put in on Magnetic Field?

It is a patent concerning magnetic field? And one of the dealers I've purchased from said Minelab is coming out with a new detector in 2017 to 2018? I wonder if it will be in regards to the new patent and be better than anything we've seen so far from Minelab?
