Anyone here hunt in 2 Tone as your primary go-to setting?

Just curious who here primarily hunts in 2 tone? If so, how do you like it more than 4 or multi tones?

Went out for a short 10 minute hunt during lunch. I still can't believe this!

I found this beauty about 6 inches deep in gravel near the driveway. Notice the beautiful patina. I didn't think anyone would believe me if I didn't post a picture.:detecting:

Get a sound but no ID

Yesterday I was detecting and a couple times I'd get a good hit, horseshoe about half filled on the conductive (right) side but no matter what I did there was no target i.d. I was too tired to dig so didn't. Anyone else run across this phenomenon?

Had a blast today with the Deus!

What a glorious day it was to detect! I was tired and hungry and heading back to the car when I got an iffy signal. Almost didn't dig it due to being so tired and hungry. Imagine my surprise another silver. The huge piece of iron was several inches under one of the pennies. I could still hear...

    In Andy Sabisch's Explorer & E-trac handbook . . .

In Andy Sabisch's Explorer & E-trac Handbook on page 75 and 76, he writes about a guy who uses these settings for his Explorer XS: Variability: 8 Limits: 10 Threshold Tone: 5 I tried these settings and fail to see how it helps. The guy said he doesn't like high pitched sounds and that is why...

    Dang rain!

I work all day to get out with my Deus after work and it rains, just like yesterday. Anyone here know how to stop the rain? :rage: Is there an app for that? LOL

Wheats and other coins with E-trac yesterday

The wheats are: 35,45, 3 46's, 56 and an undated due to too much crud. Four quarters and a nickel were in the same hole. One nickel was about an inch from a wheatie and I could differentiate between the two. And in another hole a piece of iron was about an inch from a wheat and also could...

    Etrac snags my second silver

This ring was found where a lot of old coins have been pulled out. It was deep. Don't know what happened to the stone. I still have yet to snag a silver coin but am sure they will come.

Multi tones in Ferrous mode not the same in Conductive mode

I notice that if hunting in Ferrous mode that conductive coins sound lower than when hunting in Conductive mode. On the Explorer series, the sounds are the same. I wonder why Minelab changed this. It seems to penalize those who like to hunt in Ferrous. Any thoughts on this? Tony

    E-trac strikes first silver

Went out for a 1/2 hour hunt after work. Got a good tone. Didn't know it was sterling silver because I got my E-trac yesterday and haven't found anything with it yet till tonight. Pretty good start, huh? Penny is just for size.

Deep = On or Deep = Off or Fast = On or Fast = Off?

I have a question for you folks. On my Explorers I usually hunt in Deep = On and Fast = Off, unless I am detecting a relatively trashy site. I would imagine the same is the case with the E-Trac? Do some of you just leave Fast = On and Deep = Off and still do really well on deep targets?

Where do I download Andy Sabisch's program for the E-trac?

I just received my E-trac and need to install Andy Sabisch's program into it. I don't know where that program is. Thanks!

I purchased a WOT coil in the early 2000's. Do you think that . . .

I purchased a WOT coil around 2003 for the Explorer. Do you think that the most recent manufactured WOT coil is better or just as good as what I have? I'd like to try mine on the E-trac.

Warning on using Lithium Ion batteries in E-trac

I just now read this on the instructions for the E-trac: Do not use rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries with your E-Trac. They may damage the detector and void your warranty. Rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries will give a combined voltage above 13V and therefore cannot be used with E-Trac...

Went out with diggervance today . . .

Found a live 30-30 in the park. The watch is a first for me. It's a finger watch. A woman walking by introduced herself. I showed her the watch and asked her about it. She said she used to have one. The band expands around the finger. The Junior Pilot ring was put in cereal boxes by American...

    Besides Andy Sabisch's coin program . . .

Are there other settings on the E-Trac I should be aware of for maximum depth and separation? I mostly hunt coins but also like finding old relics too.

Is the E-Trac updateable like the Deus?

Just curious if one is able to update the software version of the E-trac?
