Just ordered the Ultimate 13 inch coil for the V3i

Hi John, I enlarged the words above to bring attention to them. I am getting a V3i tomorrow. I have a 13" Ultimate that will work on it. What do you mean by" setting to the 300 12"? How does one do that? Also, do I need to let the detector know every time I change a coil?

I am so thankful to God

It seems the older I get the more I realize just how short and precious life is. When we were young we thought we were invincible. The death which is operating in our mortal bodies teaches us to appreciate life and our loved ones but especially finding a silver dime. Well, okay, just kidding on...

    Going from DFX to V3i

Thanks for the great information Johnny. Now I just have to find a really good V3i that is used because I can't easily shell out so much for a new one.

    In September I found this . . .

I was at a park and this old 90 year old black man came up to me and we chatted for about a half hour. Turns out he's a Christian brother. We shared some scriptures and he said he'd pray I'd find something nice. Meeting him was a real treasure. His name is Fitzgerald. He walks with a cane...

What are your Bestest-Deepest-settings for your DFX?

My DFX is having difficulty hitting a 9" silver dime and 9" deep copper in my coin garden. I was using the 9.5 concentric and the 8x6 SEF coil. What settings do you think would be optimal for hitting these coins?

I'm looking to purchase a used Tesoro Tejon. Can't spend a lot of money on it.

What do you MXT/MXT Pro users think about this? . . .

Curious what your thoughts are. I tried it but must be doing something wrong. If I go to Relic and flip the toggle forward it stays in pinpoint mode. Is that what it's supposed to do?

I Received my MXT Pro Yesterday

I received my MXT Pro yesterday from a person selling it on the for sale forum here. It is supposed to be used but neither the detector nor coil looks like it was ever used. I do see a little scuff where the arm cuff went on the shaft, but that's about it. Having had success with the MXT years...

    MXT upgrade to MXT Pro?

Hi gang, I have an MXT I bought years ago but has not seen a whole lot of action except for a little nugget shooting and coin shooting when I was in California. I've got the Eclipse 1400 DD coil, Eclipse 5 1/2 x 10 DD coil, 950 coil and a huge HotShot coil for it. My question is this: For those...

Not one minute went by after I turned on the Deus and hit this

Got it in the back yard after work tonight not even one minute after turning on the Deus and using CT_Todd's program. In about 20 years of detecting this farm I have only found one other silver Washington. The trash on the right shows you what I am up against. I could dig trash all night.

    DFX/V3i/VX3 Chart (old link)

Too bad it is practically unreadable. If you use IrfanView with your original large files to make those files be okay to upload, and make them readable, IfranView can do that. I can do it for you if you send me the original files then I can email them to you and you can then upload them.

    Going from DFX to V3i

Hi Johnny, my DFX has done some pretty amazing things allowing me to hear a good target in the midst of trash when I would use all metal. I'm curious if the V3i is even better?

    found Gold

For large pictures I use the free program IrfanView. With that program you can take out a lot of information and still have a great picture. Or, sometimes what I do is open the picture in IrfanView then use my Windows Snipping Tool. You find that by going to your search box by your start button...

Did TTF Trial tonight and it failed

Okay, I read the link above to the TTF program for the E-trac then went to the YouTube link and watched how the guy set his up. I got it to duplicate his test with two square cut iron nails on each side of a silver quarter on the same plane as the quarter. The quarter sounded off and the nails...

Snagged this today with my new E-trac on the farm where I live after work

It sounded absolutely horrible. It was only about 5 inches down. After digging it I rechecked the hole and there was an iron nail about 3 inches away but doubt that would skew the sounds so terrible. I almost didn't dig it. Anyone know why it didn't give that classic chime sound? Maybe it was...

Got out for about a half hour on farm where I live and snagged this

I snagged it with my E-trac. It sounded horrible. Only about 5 inches down. There was a rusty nail about 3 inches away but doubt that would make it sound to terrible. Maybe it was on edge? I almost didn't dig it. Anyone know why it would sound so horrible?

Question for Impact users . . . iron falsing

I've been hearing a lot of very good reports concerning the Impact. I have quite a lot of detectors and the one issue I have found to be the case with them is iron falsing which mimics a deep coin. Does the Impact also false on iron nails that are deep? Here is my issue with my detectors: If I...

Square Bent Nails mimicing Coin Next to Iron Nail

Just went out for a short hunt with the Deus and Gary's Ultimate program. The yards are littered with rusty nails. These nails give off the type of sound like a coin next to iron. I'm not sure what the solution is other than just don't dig them and possibly lose a nice old coin that really is...

Old Horse Bridle Bit detected after work tonight

Found this with the Deus tonight on this farm I live on. The farm goes back to almost 1800. I was using Gary's Ulimate program tonight. The object detected I dug up is an old horse bridle bit. I wonder if it was used when they had big draft horses to do their farm work before tractors were...
