    VX3 Sensitivity Simplied

I will have to try that the next time I go out. Right now the ground if frozen so probably won't get out till next year. Yea, the problem with some people is they think if Whites allows one to drive up the sensitivity all the way that that's what one should do. Not a good idea. Do you also hunt...

    Aftermarket coils for Equinox?

Does anyone know if there are going to be aftermarket coils for the Equinox? And if so, by whom?

Information on ALL the Settings on V3i?

I've been reading that. I printed it out and it's on the couch. Some phrases I just don't understand such as abbreviated things people write.

Information on ALL the Settings on V3i?

What I do when I'm in a trashy area that is really hard to ground balance is run in auto until the detector has balanced properly and then shift to lock track. I could be doing it wrong but, what the heck. It seems to work for me. LOL

Went out to my coin garden with my V3i

MackDog, that's great you can get that deep even in highly mineralized soil. To get that deep do you hunt in 2.5kHz? I'm curios if the 12x15 is as deep or more accurate than the 13" Ultimate coil?

Went out to my coin garden with my V3i

Yes, I too have found 2.5kHz to be deepest. I rarely detect in 7.5 but often in some places will do 3 freq. if I need a lot more information or the goods are just not that deep as would be needed for 2.5.

Went out to my coin garden with my V3i

Hi DFXDon! Yea, we still have some snow here too but some in our club are still getting out detecting! Is there much interference in your basement?

    RX GAIN question

I wonder if your 15x12 coil is as deep as my 13" Ultimate? 8-9 inches in heavily mineralized soil is doing really well.

    22kHz doesn't work well on my V3i

Today I took the V3i out during lunch to test the Ground Probe. Then I did some testing on a quarter and nickel. My RX Gain was at 10 and sensitivity around 85. Of course at 2.5kHz the detector hit hard on the quarter and nickel. Then tested at 7 kHz and still good. But what really threw me was...

    custom coin and jewelry program

Exactly! I'd bury coins at different depths. First make sure the ground is void of trash. Plant the coins about a foot and a half or so apart. A quarter can be buried around 10 to 12 inches. A penny and dime and nickel around 9 inches. You might want to take a small plastic plate and put it in...

    RX GAIN question

Since I have so many square cut iron nails in my yard, probably the best thing for me to so is to put a coin in between two nails and about 5 inches below them and see which settings are best to be able to hit the coin. So my plan is like this: Find two nails in the yard that are about 6 inches...

    custom coin and jewelry program

You can take the Coin and Jewelry program and make it a lot hotter to hit deeper coins than the DFX. I would not disc anything out at all on the V3i. Rather, I would accept all ferrous (iron) targets and assign either a 0 (zero) sound or very very low sound to all ferrous targets. Next...

Whites 5.3 coil Hitting a 9+ inch penny and dime on V3i?

Hey squirrel1, how ya doin ole buddy ole pal? :-) Yea, I knew that before even doing the test that it would probably not hit or if it did, hit very lightly. The stock D2 coil hits VERY well on those 9+" deep coins. They might even be down to 10" by now. I can lift the D2 10" coil about three...

Anyone know what adjustments to make based on Ground Probe for V3i?

I have been looking into the Ground Probe on the V3i. It must be there for a good reason. Does anyone here use it and if so, how do you adjust your V3i based on what your Ground Probe tells you? Tony

    RX GAIN question

This is on Whites message board: Rx Gain Sensitivity: This sensitivity control will influence both all-metal/pinpoint modes and the discrimination modes for the instrument. The setting for the Rx is determined by how much trash/iron is in the ground and how strong the ground mineralization. The...

Does this belong to a horse?

Got out with the V3i for about a 1/2 hour hunt before it got dark. Went out into the farm field where I live and found this. Does it go to a horse? The middle bar is flat. Pretty heavy for its size.

    I'm really liking this V3i!!!

Thanks, Scott. I still can't find "117 Lapeer Ave. Port Huron, MI."
