New X35 coil which lower shaft?

I had a Deus and have the ORX with all three types of coils, LF, HF and X35. I have never noticed a difference in the lower shaft. They all seem to be the same.

How to Avoid Steel Crown Caps and most Aluminum

For steel crown caps: watch the mineralization bar. If you suspect a target may be a steel crown cap, look to see if there any bars showing. That means a steel cap.

Can someone explain the Fe and Fe2 settings for me.

What Tom said is how I understand it. I mostly use my Nox 800 for gold prospecting so I just leave both Fe and F2 on 0 so I won't mask any small gold targets. On my Nox 600 which I use for any other detecting I leave Fe on 1 and F2 on 0. I turn down the iron tone volume to its lowest audible...

How to Avoid Steel Crown Caps and most Aluminum

The ORX has ID Normalization automatically On so it is going to give numbers for 18 kHz no matter what coil you use or what frequency you use. They will be a little different from what Dave D. was getting since the Deus cannot normalize IDs using the HF coils. I hunt in really mineralized dirt...

    Equinox 600 cost

Definitely try Bart at Big Boys Hobbies or any of the other great dealers on this site. They can't cut the price very much but they can bundle accessories at a good price. Jeff

Equinox 800 first and second hunts.......starting to figure it out.

The depth meter is calibrated for coin sized objects somewhere between a US nickel and a US quarter. I don't now which country or denomination Minelab actually used. The manual mentions a US quarter. So anything smaller could be much shallower and anything bigger could be much deeper. Big iron...

Equinox Beach 1 and Beach 2 Factory Presets.

I guess I could have said it better. I was not referring to factory presets that a user can adjust. The internal settings that are described on the "Beach Modes" page which is page 25 in the latest online manual explain why Beach 1 and Beach 2 are very different modes and those differences...

Equinox Beach 1 and Beach 2 Factory Presets.

Read page 25 in the manual very carefully. There are some differences that are preset at the factory. Jeff

    Xp Coils?

ORX can't run the original black coils. It was made for the white HF coils and can run the X35 coils. Deus can run all of the coils if it has been updated to: Version 4 software = white HF coils and original coils or Version 5 software = X35, HF and original coils. Jeff

The Forum says Equinox, but let's not ignore the Vanquish

Monte, if you haven't sold your Equinox yet try Beach 1 with 5 tones. To me it reacts the most like the Vanquish search modes with a little recovery speed tweaking. Jeff

    Whites TDI

Just make sure your charger has a voltage readout and stop charging each battery at 3.7 or so volts. Hopefully you got high quality batteries like Panasonic, etc. Those Coiltek TDI coils are excellent. Jeff

Torn on my next machine...Anfibio? ORX?

If you were a gold prospector like me the ORX would be a no brainer. With the HF 9" coil it goes way deeper than its coil diameter in the two tone Gold Modes. The three tone discrimination modes are almost as deep as the Gold Modes and with the same features. As far as EMI, I have not had a...

Deus in high mineralized soils? Or Equinox?

XP Deus or ORX in high mineralization for coin and jewelry hunting where numerical target ID and any kind of depth is important to you.............forget it. XP Deus or ORX in high mineralization and in Gold Field for deep relic hunting or for gold prospecting work fantastic. In high...

    Discrimination setting - Anfibio Multi

Hi, I have questions about the discrimination function built into the Kruzer and Anfibio. In my Kruzer manual it says.... "Note: DISC. setting works inversely proportional to depth up to level 15 in all modes. In other words, as the DISC. is increased up to 15, stability will increase but...

    ORX headphone pairing update issue

The quick start on the back of the manual is not for pairing. Only the information at the bottom of page 10 is for initial pairing. If you bought your ORX from a dealer it may have been paired already. Can you see a flashing light every 3 seconds just above the WS on the headset? If you have a...

Alternative for the Minelab WM08 Bluetooth Module.

I have a set of low latency Avantrees that work really well with my Nox 600 and pair easily with the control unit. I am not familiar with the AS70s Bluetooth headphones and the WM08 are two entirely different things so one is not an alternative to the other. The Nox uses two completely separate...

    ORX headphone pairing update issue

Did you buy this ORX new or used? Is the WS Audio headphone module fully charged? Did you follow the really simple procedure at the bottom of page 10 "Headphones" in the manual for pairing the headphones to the remote? Jeff

    Mineral Zones..?

Your doing great Fastdraw, just keep asking questions even when you don't know exactly what words to use. Disc. means a search mode that has a lot of discrimination capabilities that the user can setup in order to accept or reject a target range like iron or individual target ID numbers for...

    Kruzer coils on Impact?

I really appreciate all of your replies. It is hard for me to keep coil compatibility information straight sometime. Monte, I'm really sorry to hear about your recent loss of so many detectors due to theft. How many times has this happened to you in your career? thanks Monte and J-ROB

    Kruzer coils on Impact?

Simplex, Kruzer and Anfibio all have waterproofed coil cable connectors with an X pin pattern. So, I don't know if your plan will work. I have thought about using Racer 2 coils on my Kruzer............same problem. Jeff
