thinking of buying a Deus don't know about it to much would like some opinions and recommendation on how they perform and what accessories

It doesn't matter how long you or I have been detecting. The original poster wants to hunt relic sites, turf sites and sometimes use a detector at the beach. He did not say he wants to just saltwater beach hunt. He needs a versatile, lightweight detector that has some discrimination. He did not...

thinking of buying a Deus don't know about it to much would like some opinions and recommendation on how they perform and what accessories

I have hunted dry, wet and in the saltwater surf near the original poster's location with the Equinox and Vanquish. Those simultaneous multi frequency VLFs handled the local conditions just fine with sensitivity near max and good discrimination. Unless you can get your hands on a Whites Beach...

    all metals

Where I hunt there are natural iron particles (magnetite) everywhere and the Nox will hit most of those if I run my sensitivity above 20. So Elmy there may not have been any visible iron in the hole or plug, but the Nox will hit hard on even millimeter sized bits of iron or tin. If those iron...

    all metals

When I hunt in mineralized ground or ground with plenty of man-made iron trash for deeper high conductors I do not try to cherry pick deep silver by notching out too much. I also use Park 2 or Field 2 some even though it uses higher frequency weighting. Park 2 and especially Field 2 will also...

    all metals

That is a really interesting question. Did you try the same settings but in Park 2? Was the mercury on edge? If there was iron ground mineralization or iron nearby running that pattern may mask non-ferrous targets due to falsing iron signals. So, if you have iron nearby and it is falsing at say...

    all metals

That depends on where the chatter is coming from=the ground, tiny targets, EMI or just running it too hot. The Equinox is an extremely high gain detector so it is ultra sensitive to all detectable targets. If you are using all metal to get more depth......the Equinox is not made that way. You...

ok...what is up with this wheat penny I found today ? Got duplicate pics somehow.

That is really an amazing find.............A new possibility added to my bucket list.

Good Mercy whats happening to America

The protests/riots and looting are nothing new and these are just the most publicized instances or lawlessness and riots due to Black/White/Police issues since 1900. I won't even begin to bring up liberty and justice for all races, nationalities, religions and gender since this country started...

    Looking to get a Nox..

I have the 600 and 800. I use the 600 the most and use the 800 for gold prospecting and for deep relic hunts. The 600 and 800 when I set them up the same and use the same coil detect exactly the same. The only really big difference is hunting in 5 tones where you can only adjust the iron tone...

Since there’s no Vanquish Forum, I will ask my question here !?

No one can answer your question since Minelab will not release that information. There has been some speculation that Minelab based the one mode used on the Vanquish on the Equinox Beach 1 mode since Minelab did clearly state in their advertising brochures and YouTube videos that all the...

    re 6/10 eclipse coil fs.

Is your 10X6 Eclipse coil still available. let me know. Jeff

    I just can’t do it!

You and your MXT Pro seem to be a really good fit. I can understand why you might want to try something different though. I have swung every current Whites VLF detector except for the V3i which is just too much of a learning curve project for me and the one I tried did not like EMI which I have...

    mx7

I'm like you, the MX Sport and being a prospector, the new GMX are just too heavy for me to swing for very long. I could swing the MX7 and the GMT 24K (same detector housing) for about 4 hours without too much strain. I prospect hill sides, dry washes, creeks and river banks so I have to swing...

    mx7

I bought one when they came out. Really liked it but it could not match the depth and ID accuracy results I had with the Equinox. I bought another one 6 months ago thinking maybe I had not really given it a chance. I realized I had been right the first time. It is a perfectly good detector. I...

    APEX

Great to see an American manufacturer actually stop rebadging old products, stop making excuses, and really take a chance by producing a brand new product. Can't wait to use a truly new, USA quality detector again. Jeff

Is the battery in HF coils waterproof?

The XP website for the HF coils says the HF coils (which would include the battery) are waterproof down to 20 feet. I have had my 9" HF coil submerged several times but not the entire lower shaft. The battery has gotten wet however. No problems so far. Jeff

thinking of buying a Deus don't know about it to much would like some opinions and recommendation on how they perform and what accessories

Any mild to moderate soil conditions that won't make it constantly overload. Where I hunt my former MX7 would overload in any search mode at a sensitivity setting above 4 or 5 which killed depth and target ID accuracy big time.

thinking of buying a Deus don't know about it to much would like some opinions and recommendation on how they perform and what accessories

I am a big fan of the Whites MX7. In the right soil conditions the MX7 is super deep and a lot of fun to use. The MX7 tones are similar to the Equinox. The recovery speed, target separation, tone ID, numerical target ID and saltwater capabilities are not. The Equinox is really really fast...

thinking of buying a Deus don't know about it to much would like some opinions and recommendation on how they perform and what accessories

I agree 100% with what Tom recommended. I am a big fan of the XP Deus and XP ORX, but their completely wireless operation makes them less than optimal for water hunting. They do have salt water beach settings and they do make a waterproofing kit as an accessory, but I tried it and was not really...

Where is Fisher/ Technetics and Whites ??

I hate to be sarcastic especially since First Texas recreational production has been shutdown, but they did just release something "NEW" with the Bounty Hunter Time Ranger Pro. Of course it is just a rebadged F19 for $49.99 less than the already overpriced F19 and comes with the same old 11X7"...
