    First 10 silvers of 2012

A moderate winter has been a plus for detecting so far. I also got a wheat penny this past weekend that I measured at 9", my deepest coin since late spring/early summer when the ground was really wet. I'd say that the AT Pro is excellent on silver, but the truth is it just loves coins period.

    Thanks to :garrett:"Goose" for a productive 2011!

I started :detecting: in the spring of 2008. Got a grand total of 9 silvers that first year. 33 in 2009. 95 in 2010. My silver count was in the 30's when I got the AT Pro at the end of May. With the exception of about 2 1/2 weeks when the pinpoint button went out and I also got the upgrade...

18.7 hours of stuff worth taking pictures of

Been keeping track of my battery usage lately, so I'm a little more attuned to how much I'm finding in what period of time than usual. These were found in 18.7 hours since and including Thanksgiving day. Actually the 1922 chaffeurs license was from a few days before, but it was a cool find and...

Poor battery performance with AT Pro:thumbdown:

I had the impression that I hadn't been getting very good battery life in my AT Pro, nowhere near the 20-40 hours the manual says I should get, so with my last battery change I kept an actual record of battery performance. Using fresh Energizer alkalines, I got an actual total of 8.2 hours...

My record wheat without silver count

At an 1898 homesite Sunday, 26 wheats without any silver...or any other obsolete coin finds. Easily a record in "wheat" futility for me.

My early thoughts on the AT Pro...:clapping:

My early impression of the AT Pro after about 12 hours of hunting is that I'm pleased, and I'm finding it very intuitive to use. A big thank you to forum sponsor Chuck Marcum at Indian Nations Detectors for taking care of me so well. He made me glad that the used unit I wanted to buy from him...

Thesaurus rain cover for Tesoro Tejon

This is a two piece environmental cover for the Tesoro Tejon made by Thesaurus out of England. Extremely well-made, this heavy duty two-piece cover fits like a glove on both the control and battery boxes of the Tejon and will protect the detector against rain and the elements. I sold my...

AT Pro Extension with Plugger Arm Cuff - Like New - $25.00

If you have longer arms, you know how uncomfortable the stock AT Pro cuff is because it is not adjustable and fits so low on the forearm. This item corrects that problem and also adds a few ounces of weight to the back of the rod which helps balance the unit and make it less nose heavy. This...

    Joining the Barber parade...

I've found four Barber dimes to date, but up until today the oldest quarter I've ever found was dated 1935. The Barber was my silver #16 for the year and it saved today's after work hunt from being a dud. Went to the back yard of a house built in 1956 where I had longstanding permission and...

Silver #150 in the hole and my oldest coin dated ?

My 150th silver coin and #13 for the year, my 7th 1963-D rosie. I've been trying to take pictures in the hole when I remember to take my camera, I posted my most recent. That first glint of a silver find is always a kick for me. Also a couple photos of what must be my oldest coin yet that I...

sgoss66 - Read this post Steve!

It's not my words, they are the words of F5 guru Mike Hillis and this is so good! No matter what detector you use, his techniques described in the "Inland jewelry hunting" thread posted below will open your eyes to things you never even considered. I suggest that any F5 user who hasn't done so...

Silver in the hole and adios to the F75 LTD...

Got a fairly new camera and finally remembed to take it with me Sunday. When I got a glint of silver, I carefully scraped away a little more dirt for the picture. I had been detecting for about two hours and this was the first target where the numeric readout made me hope for silver. That...
