MINELAB Manticore Unmasking And Recovery Performance

The manty handles EMI very well. Because of that, you can raise the sensitivity higher = more depth. Its very good at picking coins out of high trash areas, with the 11 coil. Lighter weight, great balance. Menu is easy to scroll thru. Plenty of audio options. I just mesh real well with it...

MINELAB Manticore Unmasking And Recovery Performance

I love the manticores TID screen. It shows a variety of targets at the same time. I have picked alot of coins , with alot of trash in the same hole. And that's with the 11" coil. I hope I can find a 5 x 8 coil before spring arrives. Best Minelab machine I have ever owned!

Storm of the century hits I found a very unusual sterling Indian head ring!

I received a similar ring from my dad, when he was young. ( 1930's) The outer part was also sterling, but the face was like an insert, and was brass color. I'll have to look for it.

    New digger.

Yes I have used one for 2 years, its great. I just added another hand trowel for this year, one I picked up at home depot with serrated edges for digging where there are roots. Roots suck!

Pulled the trigger on a XP Deus 2

I just ordered a D2 from Richard at Backwoods . Awesome guy to deal with, been buying from him over the years. I have a Manticore and love it but its nice to have a spare. They should compliment each other nicely. 9 & 13 coils. Can't wait for spring!

Manticore coils on the way ?

It would make sense to put out a 9" round, then they can go head to head with a Deus 9.

    Ultra USA Dime Test

I have the Simplex +, and its a deepie. But where it falls short is in the discrimination dept. Alot of caps sound off like coins. Now that I;m retirement age, my desire to dig deep junk is becoming less desireable. But the machine can't be beat for the money IMHO.

Tell us how long you been Metal Detecting

Off and on since 1975. 1st detector was an AH Mini Pro, discriminator. I was hooked when in a park about 13 yrs old, and two detectorists came along and started popping coins out of the ground. I have no idea what detectors they had, but I was fascinated. Currently running a Manticore and...

    Manticore custom coins program.

I like the coin program that "iffy signals" shows on youtube, called Silver Coin Program by tone region. Each of the 5 bins uses a different tone and volume. Easy set up. You still hear all the targets, but the coin signals jump out above the rest. I love it in trashy areas.
