ID Edge finds a large penny and IH cent

at a modern high school today. Found these in the dense bush about 50 feet from the school. Didn't expect to find a large penny but I found out an old farm was there until about 1966 when the school was built. Large penny is 1826, IH is 1874. Will try the lawn next time, too many ticks in the...

8" ID Edge coil on my C$ is deeper

than 8" C$ coil in air tests. Tested a silver dime, quarter and IH penny. Not much deeper, about 1/2" but the signal is more consistant and with more high tones. I saw no depth improvement when comparing the 5" and 10 coils, only the 8". The C$ coils don't work on the Edge, no audio, no meter...

More corn field finds with ID Edge

Corn field is only 100 years old, nothing really old there. Hasn't been planted in two years and now is covered with weeds 10 - 24" tall. Can't get coil close to the ground but did manage to get three coins that were only 4 - 5" deep. Place is loaded with crushed soda cans 6" deep, they all...

    CoinStrike goes deep

Got the C$ about a month ago. Went back to the cornfield where it found the 1851 silver three cent piece. British troops camped in the adjacent field but today its rare to find anything there anymore. The two piece button is really small, has the skinny eagle standing on an anchor, might be...

    A first in 25yrs...

Trimes are tough to find for sure. This year luck is with me. In April I found one in the woods and in May found one in a cornfield. Neither one was past 6" deep. Both are 1853, beautiful condition. Prior to that I found one about 30 years ago in an old cemetary. I'm still looking for my first...

Make a SuperTune Ring for your Garrett ProPointer

Move your finger forward and supertune the pinpointer when you need to. Will work with your wedding band too, but a ring on the index finger is easier. This ring was made from stainless steel band I had in my cellar (from old windshield wipers).

    Remove cover coil

I get them off using a small block of wood and a hammer, jut tap, tap, tap all around.

Took my new used Coinstrike to a cornfield today

Found a 1853 three cent silver with the 8" coil. Pinpointer located it in the side of the hole 5 - 6" deep. This is a tiny coin compared to a dime. The signal was mixed but had enough high tones to make me dig. Been out with the C$ three times now, not hard to learn thanks to all the info on the...

Easy to do cable wrapper like on an upright vacuum cleaner.

Only 3 wraps needed for Fisher 8 Ft. cables. Made 2 hooks from aluminum flat bar, filed all edges round and attached with hose clamps. I have 3 coils, this is going to save all that endless wrapping around the rod. Move the hooks closer together or farther apart and the cable plugs straight in...

f/s Tesoro 8.5" DD Widescan coil

5 pin cable connector, no coil cover. $60 shipped conus. Used this coil about a dozen times. My soil is mild so don't need it in my neck of the woods.

May, June , July is heavy tick season

Been searching in the fields where weeds are starting to grow. With the last 3 hunts I picked 15 ticks off my clothes and one found one on my car seat two days later. The last time out I tried spraying my pant legs with Raid Ant & Roach Killer, bad smelling stuff. Thought that would do it for...

    FS CORTES

Includes 8x9 and 5.75 concentric coils. I bought this detector new Aug. 2007 (have receipt) and used it until Sept 2010. Added extension wire to rear of arm cuff for headphone plug-in. The extension wire can be unplugged from the original jack on the control box and removed. Spray painted both...

    Two 1700's pennies

found in a field yesterday & today. King Georgius I and King Georgius II. Also found a King William penny, no date visible but most likely 1698. Good field for old coins, found a total of five 1700's British pennies there. Strange, did not find any silver or Indian Heads. Fisher ID Edge. New Jersey

Had a good day, found four large pennies

I can barely see the name Georgius on three. Looks like all are British from the 1700's. No pitting, all are worn thin but some detail can be seen. The upper left coin has 1775 date and Brittania, no date visible on the others. Searched two hours in a field. The coins and a fired musket ball...

My best silver day in a long, long time

Searched around an empty New Jersey farm house, farm now belongs to the county. First 3 digs near the house were silver coins, this place has to be virgin territory. The small sterling pill box is stamped Siam. The large penny is a 1700's King George II penny, can't make out the date. Found the...

Will Edge ID coils work on the Coinstrike?

I have the 10", 8", & 6" coils made for the Edge. If I buy a Coinstrike will these coils work without modifying them.

    Found my oldest coin today

near an old stone foundation in the woods. 1735 King Georgius II half penny. Was able to see the date until I cleaned the dirt off. The coin isn't worth anything but it's fun to find those oldies. Was tough searching, iron junk signals everywhere. The ID Edge is really doing a terrific job...

Golden uMax finds seated dime in local park

Was using my Golden for jewelry in the park and after 10 minutes I noticed an area that slopes down to the road where the grass was never cut, some trees. Headed straight for it to check it out. Just 5 minutes later I get a high tone, out pops a 1877cc seated dime. Couldn't believe it. Searched...

    Hit the woods again today

Small wooded area. Found a no date Standing Liberty quarter, 8 IH pennies, and a shield nickle. Two pennies were just 2" deep, the others about 5-7". It was a fun 3 hours but I don't have much faith in the indian heads looking good after they are cleaned up. The dirt is really stuck to them. Any...

Found a seated dime just 3" deep

in the woods today, 1877-S. The ID Edge indicated a dime about 3" deep, thought it was gonna be a Merc or a Rosie, man was I surprised. Then later a 6" deep IH, a 6" deep musket ball and an IH laying on top of the ground under the leaves, that was another surprise. Indian heads are 1867 & 1873...
