They're not teaching it because its so good . No repeat customers. more trips to the dentist equals more moolah for ADA.

    Ghost Signal

I agree with the big deep target, it has happened to me on several outings. Most of the time its very rusty iron . I don't like to abandon good signals , but I have had to walk away from some of them. always leaves me wondering what it was !!

THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMMMMM. Has anyone noticed .......

I've noticed good signals out in the woods are sometimes under deer and moose droppings. Maybe the dogs are natural born metal detectors with precision pinpointing skills. I should just get a dog and let it do all the leg work.. All kidding aside , Was the coin directly under the dog poop or...

    Detectors unfinished before release

Especially if your machine wants to update mid swing and you are on a sweet deep target.... Maybe the testers need to be tested.. All kidding aside , the bugs and little hiccups will all stabilize after they are worked out thru the updates.

    Item from 1800's homesite

Is it lead ? What is the material inside it (packed dirt) ? Does the bottom of it look worn like rubbed from sliding ? Sorry for all the questions but these are some of the things I look for when I find unidentifiable stuff. And I ask myself the questions.. Hope you get an ID on it. HH

Did I find a piece of cut silver?

It very well could be Spanish silver. Nice find. No matter what condition , silver is always a good find. HH

Not sure, Could it be a Colonial cuff link?

Fan out your search. I try to go back in time in my mind and try to figure out what the landscape may have looked like back then. Where would be some ideal spots to pitch a tent , look for iron as well try to find charcoal or evidence of a campfire . Was there any skirmishes in the area ...

Not sure, Could it be a Colonial cuff link?

Does look like a cufflink . Certainly not modern.. Nice find !! I would spent more time in that area. HH

    Looking for ID and Dates

Is the hoop with the hook brass ? I have found similar ones made of cheap pot metal. The other item looks like a small shoe buckle frame from the colonial era. The buckles are usually made of brass. I found one made of pewter a while ago (not in the best of condition) but colonial . Nice...

Hand Etched Dated Black Glass Mallet...

I think thats refered to as an onion bottle or a type of. I found one similar about 12-15 yrs ago. It was filled with pine tar . Man was that stuff potent. That is a great find with the engraved date. Im always amazed at the things you find in the water. Keep up the good finds. Congrats . HH

What should I ask for it?

Thats a nice one.. Funding a new purchase with a find is a great outlet. Somebody once asked me if I found enough valuable stuff to pay for my metal detecting stuff. My answer was absolutely yes . But I sure didn't strike it rich first time out.. Looks like you're on your way to a great new...

What should I ask for it?

If you don't need the money now , I would hang on to it. Its ultimately your decision. I usually keep everything I find. Unless God forbid we fall on harder times or harder times continue to fall on us .. Anyway you decide its a very nice find to say the least . Congrats HH

Saw this to solve the Deus bad foot design!

Thats pretty cool. The AT Max could use something similar as it tends to roll over because the control module is top heavy.

    Trime Time

I"m only going to slow down my swing. I'm 56 so I guess relatively not too old , still work full time . Only have the weekends or afterwork . As far as the Deus 2 , well My Nox 800 is still doing fine for me for now. I hope to be back in the woods at the old cellar holes / homesteads in a...

    New Garrett Release?

How about one that does both , that would be nice.. Plus lighter weight and wirelessly adaptable to headphones and pinpointer . Interchangeable coils , etc ,etc etc ...

    Equinox Locks up!!

I agree with Mark , also slow your swing down. The machine needs time to recover/reset itself before it can try to id next target. Multiple targets gives bouncy numbers. I've had my machine at least 3years now and I am still learning new tweaks . The more hours you have on the machine , the...
