Had my ATX in the water several times, a question...

I stand it up upside down as to faciltate letting what moisture might be trapped in the shaft after I drain it. Should I try and get it completely dry or just don't worry about it. Looks like I could build up some mold or something if it doesn't get completely dry? Just wondering....

Racer, CTX, CoRe, been hunting a small front yard...

A couple of weeks ago I hunted a very small front yard of an old abandoned 100 plus yr old house. Not much trash here at all about normal I guess. Put the Racer with small coil on it and dug a couple of handfulls of coins on a couple of hunts. Several days later wanted to try and get deeper and...

Have ya ever found a piggy bank?

Went to a place where a house burnt down less than a year ago. Early 1900's house, about 4 houses up from where I was raised. They just cleared the lot this week and I gave it a go. Found a few well, pennies and then got along the edge of the foundation. Got another 82 on the Racer and stuck the...

Why you don't want to run a high disc on the CoRe...video

Here ya go, watch as the dime opens up more and more as you lower the disc on the CoRe. Listen to as much as you can stand and your finds are going to go up considerably. The machine let's you know whats there to further investigate the good target. I would think you might be cutting your finds...

Overload talk...Here's what I do, Per Dilek's post

Dilek posted about the overload points and I've been using it since then. Yesterday just happened to walk into another old house lot and needed to drop the gain to reduce the amount of overloads. It's works perfectly in reducing them. Did this off the cuff then realized all the problems or...

Had a good and enlightening hunt Easter afternoon...

Belly full, everyone left, so did I. Made my way to the ghetto gridding the old parts of town looking for anything new to detect under, (torn down house). My last hunt I hunted a sidewalk up to an old house now condemned. I hunted with the stock 11" coil on the Racer. Did pretty good and knew I...

I was tickled at his excitement detecting

My grandboy has never really took to anything like this. He pretty much does what a lot of kids do nowadays. I traveled out to his great grandmas house, 200 acres, to detect and he wanted to go. We found some coins and a few pieces of metal that were gold colored. May as well been gold and I...

I couldn't stand it..........Racer on the way lol

I figure with having the CoRe if I'm not much into the S shaft I can flip it quickly seeing how they are going so fast. Standard pkg and small coil on the side. Gotta cheat on my new girlfriend the CoRe, just gotta know.

The Turkish machines, a few things to know...

DI2 would be best suited for relic hunting imo or a non trashy coin hunt. DI3 is "the" coin mode by all means, although it could easily be the coin and relic mode. DI3, Killer on coins audibly. You don't even have to look at the TID when in DI3 the good targets become so obvious sounding once...

Old sidewalks sure are pretty this time of year.............

Spotted 3 new ones today riding around on old lot's all over town. Early spring in the south is the best time to see the bulbs coming up. Nothing physical has to be there just the lillies in a row will show you where people concentrated while walking.
