    Silver, Gold and . . .

Mark and I were back at it at the camp today, we spent the first couple of hours clearing another area to hunt. Today was a back breaker :stretcher: but we got it done. My first target was a funky gold plated cuff link, I thought it was an odd thing to find there. A few minutes later I got...

    It's Raining SILVER :stars:

I've been hunting a "lost" camp with Mark since I learned of it during earlier research. We've been making some great finds, and it's been quite a productive site, and it's obvious it's never seen a coil until we got there  In my last post I mentioned that I had set a new milestone...

The Virgin, the not so Virgin, and a new SILVER milestone :detecting:

Friday afternoon I hunted with RacerX and managed to find a 1939 merc, a 1942 merc, as well as a 1918 buffalo nickel. Sunday I hunted a spot that I've hit hard over the last year, and I've pulled several barbers, injuns, V nickels, my first SLQ, a few mercs, lots of teens wheatbacks, etc...

New Personal Best in Silver for one day :detecting:

I took Jim (time4me) and Mark (beachbumm) to a new spot this morning, and it turned out to be a great spot for every one :beers: Everyone was finding silver at this spot, but it started to dry up and it started to get hot (hot already in March  ). Jim could only stay for a few...

Silver n Gold, Button, statue, misc from last few hunts

I've been meaning to post this stuff from last week, but kind of got sidetracked :detecting: 1st is a button I got on a hunt with Jim (time4me) at a neat place he took me to. I believe it's a general service button c. WWI: From the same hunt, I found this beautiful Gorham sterling silver...

Jewelery Cache Found with F75 LTD :detecting:

I've been working on researching new places to hunt. This is a daunting task, as time and time again I've spent time at the library, online, etc., researching an interesting old site, only to get there and find that it had effectively been cleaned out. When I bring these places up to the old...

Keith Wills no longer tuning CZ's

I called East Texas today and the lady I spoke with said she was pretty sure that Keith decided not to service/tune CZ's any longer. I left a message for him, and we'll see what happens. On a side note I noticed that a thread on this forum from a month or so ago regarding tuning the CZ...

THE 100th PULL TAB :pulltab:

Did a little recon work this afternoon to check out a new hunting spot that only dates to the 30's-40's but I thought it had great potential for silver coins as well as jewelry due to it's purpose. I spent a couple of hours checking it out, and at one point a park ranger came over to me. I...

My First YouTube Video - lil East Bay Silver...err make that BIG East Bay Silver :detecting:

Yesterday was a beautiful 70-someodd degree day, and I got out yesterday with BeachBumm and The Chase in search of the elusive silver oldies. We hit a San Francisco East Bay park and had a pretty good hunt, lots of jewelery and a BIG SILVER first for me :beers: Be gentle, this is my first...

If a Safari is a simplified Etrac, then why buy the Etrac?

Eventually I plan to buy either an Etrac or a Safari, but this question has been on my mind for a while. Does the Safari get the same depth as the Etrac? What would you loose by going with the Safari vs the Etrac? Do the audio tones sound the same on both machines? Thanks, Brian

CZ 70 PRO REPLACEMENT FOAM GRIP ?

My foam grip is worn out on my CZ70. I know I could order another one from FRL, but to be honest the grips are a bit whimpy to begin with (I believe I have one from my old C$ as I had to replace the handle and they sent the foam as well, which is the same as the CZ70). I was thinking about...

    San Francisco SILVER

Guess I scrapped enough of that pesky gold out of the way to let the silver shine through, and shine through she did  Got out to GGP with a hunting buddy this week and landed my third barber dime (1900S) of the year in the same area I got the last one last month. We were trying some...

Looking for silver, but I keep finding . . . :detecting:

GOLD!! The sun decided to make a rare appearance for a few minutes a couple of days ago  so decided to get out for a short hunt at a park behind my house and test out my F75 LTD jewelery program, and I found this chunky 2 gram 14K gold earring (I've found gold rings that weighed less)...
