New Minelab Excalibur II finds first gold!

First dip in the water for the spring. 55 degrees out. This was in same pond I started last spring with. More of a learning exercise. I didn't expect to find gold. About an hour in I got a strong signal. I held coil above it about 6 inches and it still hit well. One scoop and wallla...

    Metal detectors an insurance.

When I buy the excal 2 I am looking to find a way to insure it. Has anyone insured their detectors, an if so how? I was going to call an ask my auto insurance about it. Hope there is some one out there who has done this. Thanks. -Joe HH

Hit the beach today...not much luck

I think I found what is called a cut. I didn't get a picture of it...had to leave. But here is a picture of the stuff I got. 4 hours. Mostly pull tabs. There was plenty of iron to. I wasn't digging coin signals [BH ID all metal led] because it was always turning out to be broken up lobster...

    new machines

Anyone know if fisher is making an upgrade to the 1280 or cz 21? Not trying to ask a stupid question, but in the 1280s case its been over 20 years since major changes to it were made. Side question. What happened to fisher pulse? They don't make it anymore? I like fisher products I own...

I got a stainless 7 inch hercules scoop. I am already thinking of a few things. It fills with water..can be aggrivating . It is heavy. I can get past that. It sinks and grabber is to low. I was thinking of using spray foam inside arm of it from top and hope it would float at least the...

    Whites beach hunter ID

Anyone use one of these machines? Will they work on salt water? I have an offer for one that wasn't used much. Might take it. Not sure. I am looking to have two units. I was thinking about the beach more than freshwater for my second one, as my 1280 does not like salt water. Good...

    Dredged spot...lotts of trash.

I posted a week ago about a spot and some trouble I was having. Thanks to great advice I found my first ring of the year. Come to find out. There is a spot a short walk away from that pond where they dump material they dredge from the bottom of the swim hole. Problem. Iron...and lots of it...

    Took a plunge today...few questions

So I finished a pond I started yesterday. I use a fisher 1280 aquanaut. Not to bad change wise. I found about 7 dollars total. Mostly in quarters...tarnished so they were there since last year. I found about 5 pennies. And mayne just as many dimes. Not one nickle...any thoughts on that...
