    Lanyard question

    Does anyone have any advice on how to fabricate a lanyard for hunting in the surf? Also, do you connect it to the scoop or the detector? I've read where folks use one to let the scoop trail away from the detector, but also where people tether the detector to free their hands and make digging easier.
