    New to metal detecting, can a 6000/D locate Gold?

    I just purchased a used 6000/D and I know very little about metal detecting. Can this detector locate gold ore on the surface? And is the 6000/D a good detector or is just out of date?

    Hello, I just purchased my first metal detector, a used 6000/D. What years were they sold by White's and can it be used to locate gold? Also, how does it compare to the newer versions. Thank you, Richard
