    Dawn dish detergent and crusher fines works just fine for my stuff , add a little vinegar every now and then and about 5 or 6 hours and they're clean enough to go back into circulation. The banks here won't take them if they're rolled anymore so I just dump them in the bank coin machine. No fee.

    You are overlooking the obvious , if you are going to spend that kind of money , get the CTX with the added 6" coil or better yet , a used one with some warranty and additional coils for less than either of the ones you mentioned.

    The Excellerator was my choice over the 5" and I never regretted it but it was probably the coil I used the least. I did use the 6" on the CTX a fair amount but only got the Excellerator a little before gettiing the CTX so I wasn't using the etrac that much after that.

    10 years? , if you detected regularly that could be 2000 cycles,,,,doubtful. I had the Deus1 and after a couple years of pretty decent usage , with that battery it was getting tough to get two days out of good detecting , that was after probably 400 cycles.
