Happy New Year! Breaking up is hard to do

Happy New Year All- looking forward to some spring time digs. It was difficult to do but today parted with the blue jeans ive been diggin in for the last 5 years. They probably about 25 % gone anyway. For fear of damaging my septic system and or washing machine, was more recently using a power...

    Almost didnt dig this ring

3 inches deep. Giving me a high nickle id (35). So high i was thinking aluminum and or foil and about to leave it be, except it was a very sharp , succinct bark in mid tones so dig i did. Glad i did. 1944 class ring, 10 k. Fair weather ahead, Good hunts all, CO

    cleaning a fisher screen

guys, I hunt a very lot and my f75ltd has withstood amazing conditions since i got it several years ago. Through briars, mud,and more ive managed to scratch more than once my screen while reaching for the digger the screwdriver etc. I assuming just a mild soap and paper towel to clean it. But...

Large cent in good shape and a barber dime

Did some research and found an old spot. I think its been hit a lot. But in three hours got these two and a wb. Hey if i average one old coin per hour, I'd be happy. For this neck of the woods the large cent is in very good shape. Probably the nicest one Ive ever found, Good Hunts All, CO

Is it worth getting older propointers tuned up?

While i dont need an exact amount does anybody know out of warranty if its worth dollar wise getting propointers tuned up ?. I have several that still work but for some reason may sound weak, or are misbehaving like buzzing endlessly once locking on to a target, or the switch is out of whack...

Finally got my TWO CENTS worth!

Hurrah. Took my digging buddy to the site of a mid 19th century school. Got an odd mixed signal, both mid and high. I find this coin and by the shape of the thing, I think

playground redo=34 wbs, sunburn and some silver too

Had big fun, one of those infrequent sites. I knew well ahead the date the newplayground was to be erected, but what about the prep? I visited the site last week, no activity. Getting down to the wire, i chanced the 30 min drive yesterday. Pulling in to the park i see plenty of fresh dirt. Asked...

Tried what Elton did, max disc, 85 sense

So i dont have the concentric, but did have a 10 inch elliptical i never used, Removed 11 inch double d from my 75ltd and put on the elliptical. Interesting. At first noisy, I realized i had some things notch out so i then got rid of the notched settings so it was just pure (65) disc. I was at...

Barber and V nickle in the same hole make for an interesting signal

Got lucky again. At the area where I got the seated liberty quarter late last season, today got this strange signal. Almost didnt dig, sounding like a beavertail, and then a beer ring, high id like silver but then that at times, that fluctuating is this a nickle or a beer ring thing number? I...

Season opener includes Standing LQ in pretty good shape and (?)Mermaid

Well some good weather got here and i was finally out today. This quarter (1923) was in a spill about 5 inches deep with the Buffalo nickle and some wheats. (earliest wheat was 1918). It gives me a new appreciation for the art in the SLQ. To date id thought it a rather dull issue. But i guess...

    ARGH

With 60 degree weather predicted tomorrow, i wake up to this on my deck today. Could be sloppy diggin. Think we'll need another month for the ground to soften up. Some places in upstate NY the frost is purported to be 2-3 feet deep. CO

    propointer and merc switches

i know weve dabbled in this before. My question is do you think by positionally engaging the current off and on (holding the unit up or down) so the unit comes "off and on" through the mercury switch, is that the same as turning the unit off and on in the normal way with the on off switch. As i...

    Diggers back on

Watched the new season opener. Glad for the guys digging the great targets. Also liked the plugs for public responsibility etc. What was that detector that they claimed could hit at ten feet? Must cost a bundle. Hope it doesnt get over produced though. Seemed like this episode was noisier, more...
