    SLQ and a couple dimes

Found these a couple weeks ago. Been too hot since then to have any fun. Has to be the most worn SLQ I've found. The Rosie took a oil/tar bath as it was found on the side of a gravel road. Need the weather to cool off a bit so I can get out before I forget what high tone silver sounds like.

Saturday - Two silver coins and a buckle

Hunted an area of an old park I've been avoiding. It's an old gravel road partially covered in dirt. One of those places that you can hardly get your digger started. Had a nice high tone on both of them, but, the signals were iffy. So after scraping, digging, and repeating, finally got to them...

    One Merc

Got back home a day early from Omaha, NE., NCAA Baseball World Series on Monday and decided to get out and try to find some silver. Within the first half hour got the Merc. Thought maybe I would have a chance at getting a couple more. Wasn't meant to be, got the three Wheaties and called it...

    Saturday - Merc & IH

Fought the rain and the rain won. You have probably had days like that, hunt for a while, sit in a shelter, wait for the rain/drizzle to stop for a while. Did that most of the few hours I was out. Did manage to find a Merc and a junky IH, so all was not lost this time out.

    Saturday - Silver

Was getting skunked on Saturday, after a few hours was about ready to call it quits. Heading in the direction of the car decided to hit a spot that I've been over a few times. Got them in about 20 minutes and within seven feet of each other. Wish I would have gotten them in the first 20...

    No Silver Saturday

Couldn't pull any silver out of the ground Saturday. Did get my first IH pennies of the year which is a treat for me since I don't find that many.

    Saturday - Seated Dime

Went over an area that in my mind I just *knew* there would not be anything worth digging. Had a shallow signal that I just *knew* was going to be a clad dime. Just put the digger in the soil enough to flip some dirt off the top. Out popped the Seated Dime, glad I didn't scratch it.

Sunday - Long Day - One Barber Dime

Hunted a public area, got the dime during the last hour. Had some rain the night before, maybe it's only me but the bent nails sound really good with a most soil.

    Latest Hunt couple Silver Dimes

Hunting in the nastiest part of the park, lots of iron and junk. Been over it more than a few times. Almost always use manual sens as high as I can take it. This time just set it to "auto" and found them.

Got out Sunday - Pretty Good Silver Day

Had a good day Sunday. Weather was perfect. Don't know why the Seated looks so cruddy. Practically all silver comes out of the ground looking pretty good in my mild soil. An older gent stopped by to chat. Said he and his brother have been hunting that place for 40 years. Said he found a...

    Second Time out this year

First time out only got a few clads. Took off fairly early today and when I got to the park it was 34 and a light rain. I was about frozen and had to warm up in the car a few times. Not much today but a couple wheaties and a silver dime, but a neat one.

Warm Day - Pulled the E-Trac out of mothballs

Had a warmer than normal day on 26 December and pulled the E-Trac out of winter storage. Had a pretty good hunt considering I didn't think I'd have a chance to get out until spring.

    Merc's Rising

Out of the ground that is, on Sunday. Cold weather held off and was able to get out. Today it's snowing and that's all she wrote for the year.

    Friday's Finds

Probably the last time I'll get out for the season. Only dug one plug that had silver in the hole, but these three were in there.

    One Silver from Monday

Some days you get alittle more lucky. Only found one this time out. The IH is in better shape than most I find, which isn't that many.

    Some Silver from Sunday

It was so darn windy it was hard to keep the coil on the ground. Did manage to find a couple though, including a neat little puffy charm.
