    I tried using headphones with my Nox 800 , once. Since the MineLab pinpointer I have DOESN'T sync to the headphones, I'd have to remove the headphones to hear the signal. Used for about 10 minutes and gave up.

    I've got a Equinox 800 with the large and small coils and wireless Bluetooth headphones I'm going to sell as soon as I'm able to post in the Trader Forum. I bought the Equinox this spring but I also bought the Legend a month later. I prefer the Legend cause the balance is more to my liking...

    Well, I just set the Tone Break to 14 and buzz right along. Also, I have found that with version 1.09, I DON'T get as much iron false'n as I used to get in V 1.07. If I had unlimited funds and time, I'd still run the Legend WITH the 6" coil and the 9x5 when they release it.

    The 800 Nox is a very good detector. I have both the 800 and the Legend. Right now I prefer the Legend because it has better balance and I like the sounds better.

    ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!! I watch videos by Paystreak Superfreak on Utube and he doesn't hunt by VDI; he hunts by tone(s). When it's viable, he's in the field hunting everyday, all day long. LEARN THE TONES. Here's an example of his videos:

    I tried BT Headphones ONE time, just one time. Didn't like it at all cause I didn't have a pin pointer that would sync to the headphones and I was constantly having to remove the headphones to hear the pin pointer.

    First off, the balance and it's amazing how much easier it is to swing. Also, I get coins at 6" without much problem, i.e. good signal. Today I hunted and concentrated on the mid tones; 20~25 VDI. I dug the most Nickels I've ever dug on a hour hunt; got 9. I usually don't get one. Of course...

    I'm having a glorious time just searching out the different modes, frequencies, ect of the Legend. It's a great detector especially for the money. The 6" coil is a killer and works plenty deep for my hunting. Can't find many lawns that homeowners would let me dig a 10~12" hole anyhow.
